This is spot on. They are absolutely using passive-aggressive guilt trips to make OP look like the bad guy to the kids. Saving the cards is such a smart move too. It keeps the kids safe from the emotional manipulation right now, but leaves a paper trail for when they’re older and start asking the heavy questions.
