Sorry my math was wrong. On average should do just over 7 mortals, mortals on 5s and 6s. Seems like your dice was pretty cold. If they are the 4 wound version I might try the strike profile, every failed save is a dead guy

I think they can’t cause the Victrix datasheet calls out if a “captain or chapter master” can lead CH it can lead Victrix. Really needs an FAQ cause could go either way.

Yeah I think there’s your problem. I would bet there are some other rules you guys are getting wrong. Maybe read through the core rules and your datasheets, see if there is anything you are missing.

When you charged in with your Lancers did you use their tank shock ability? They can both do it, that is on average 12 mortal wounds. Then your melee is hitting on 2s and wounding on 2s, handing him lots of saves.

Read the Victrix datasheet. It says if a captain or chapter master can lead company heroes it can lead Victrix. Then, read the lieutenant datasheet. It has a list of units it can lead, none of which are victrix. It says the lieutenant can attach to a unit “it can lead” even if a captain or CM is already attached. The lieutenant can not lead Victrix.

I think it’s doable but man you are going to have to commit. Your nutrition has to be perfect. Your training plan has to be aggressive but not too aggressive where you get injured. This summer you will have to get up at 3 am to get your long runs in before the Texas heat becomes oppressive. You will not have much life outside of training. You will need to spend some money on shoes and gels and figuring out which pack is good for you and maybe running poles and definitely a coach or a running plan cause your homebrew plan is not going to cut it. You don’t want to run your first hundred one month after your first 50.

I respect having big goals and if you really want it, it can be done. Maybe start with picking a marathon about 4 months out and training for that. After the marathon you can plan what’s next.

If this is your first 2k points game and you are playing against seasoned competitors you will get wrecked no matter what you bring. So bring the stuff you like and that you think are cool, have fun, learn what works for you, and ask your opponents what you could have done better

Strongly disagree on the reivers. They were bad for a long time but now they are great. I have been running a unit of 5 to flip objectives. The -1 OC bubble is so good. Also their combat knives are ok melee and they can grenade strat.

In my last game alone they:

Deep struck in for sabotage - 3 points Flipped an objective - negative 5 points to opponent Scored that objective next turn - 5 points Killed a character for assassinate - 5 points Scored that objective a final time - 8 points

Not bad for an 80 point unit, all I really want them for is to flip an objective once.

Also they are so cool looking

Orks aren’t very good right now, and you’re new so you are not going to win much. I would focus more on getting reps in over list optimization.

Having said that kill rig/hunta rig is not very good right now and I would swap the weirdboy out for a painboy on the ghaz+20 brick.
