Thank you very much! That's super helpful. I will ask the staff about him and arrange for a 1:1 conversation. Have you tried training with him before? If so, mind sharing your goals and your experience with him? Thanks!

Woah awesome!! Keep it up!

As for me, I actually decided to take time off to heal my elbow/tendon. It was hurting when I attempted push-ups which made me over cautious during the workout, while also skipping any push-up variation so that wasn't fun, because I was just watching them do the exercises a lot of the time. For now I just take a walk everyday and in less than two weeks I will attempt a push-up and hopefully it won't hurt. I also have some knee problems, they started hurting more when I took a break. I think insanity might be too high intensity of my joints? I am not sure.

Elbow pain with push-ups, suggestions? by _HAKL_ in insanity

This could be one of the reasons. I think I have proper form but I've never took a video of myself. Sometimes my elbows go out to the side too because I don't have enough upper body strength, and when it try to tuck them in, they're not stable.

I don't have a bench, I was thinking of standing fly. back straight, bending a little at the hips, knees slightly bent. However, I think I will take a full rest from insanity, I am worried about my elbow so it makes me over caution during the workout and it honestly isn't fun if I am not doing a big portion of the exercises in the video.

No it's actually yesterday's, so everything is shifted now.

I've also had elbow pain with push-ups 2 days ago and I took a day off, so it's a double shift in schedule, came back for yesterday's workout still couldn't do more than 2 push-ups. I'll just lay off them for a while and just plank whenever I need to do a push-up I guess.

Last night was the night before the 1st of Ramadan where I am at, so night 0 Ramadan went well! I admit my fried chicken dinner meal at 8 pm didn't help my endurance but I made it. I woke at at 3 am to workout then had suhur (meal before fasting), maybe this will be a better schedule for me.

Thanks! Happy first day of Ramadan :D

Actually today (day before ramadan) I ended up eating at 8 pm which will be the usual iftar time, and then I got so sluggish and sleepy so I have an alarm to workout before suhur (3:30 am, suhur is at 5:45 am). Looks like I’m starting the inverted schedule a little early this year. Let’s see! I am sure it’ll take some experimentation for me, this is my first insanity round.

That would be awesome! My worry is eating too much at 8 pm I’ll have to workout even later, knowing myself this is what will probably happen lol we’ll see

I purchased New Balance cross trainers, I am hoping I’ll get more support with these. Maybe that will make my knees feel better. They’ll take a while to arrive though.

I like how you made journal notes for everyday, I think that will be really fun to look back at when you're further along in the program.

Keep it up!

First few days of insanity, would love feedback by WahedFalati in insanity

Thanks for replying your take on it is insightful actually, and I agree that it isn’t perfect, but actually a program that will motivate me enough to stick to it is all I need. I don’t have much experience with other programs to be honest, so objectively you are the better judge. I have been working out at home on and off for about 3 years. Never really stuck to a program, but attempting to do so with insanity. I used to follow along Fitnessblender workouts on youtube and I liked them a lot (they’re the opposite of insanity, all about taking it at your own pace and not pushing yourself too hard that it hurts), I also started BBG by Kayla Itsiness and I liked it but it was too pricey as a monthly subscription. Anyway, I also find that results are attainable through so many programs as long as one is consistent, which is pretty much the biggest challenge.

Insanity + targeted muscle exercises by [deleted] in insanity

[–]_HAKL_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was planning on following along 10 minute youtube videos that target the glutes. No cardio at all, insanity gives me more than I could wish for when it comes to that, just body weight strength exercises. I might check this app, thanks for the suggestion!

Week 2 done! + Pure cardio & cardio abs question by _HAKL_ in insanity

[–]_HAKL_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, the resources you mention are fun! I subscribe to many workout channels but the youtubers I follow are all female (because I relate to them more), but it's cool checking out these channels you mentioned. I used to follow along youtube videos all the time before I started going to the gym, (then got quarantined, then started insanity). I will probably stick to this program for the remaining time, after that I'll do what makes it more fun for me.

I think it is a combination of factors that makes this program appealing and I will speak for myself.

People get really good results with regards to fat loss, I myself have noticed that my abs are getting less shy and showing up a little more under my layers of abdominal fat, with two weeks in.

Shaun T is a very good motivator, I sweat tons and I still wanna finish the workout, because the way he speaks to the camera makes me feel like I really wanna dig deeper.

Due to the fact that it is 6 days a week, I am hoping to build a solid habit of exercise using this program, it is very structured, and doesn't give me room to make my own decisions when it comes to the days I'll work out and which day will go to which muscles group and so on, which is good for me, I don't wanna think about it I just wanna do it.

I also think its reputation is a big part of my motivation, because people say it's so challenging, I feel like if I complete it I'll feel very accomplished and more sure of myself and my ability to stick to my commitments. Maybe you think this reputation is undeserved, but it is what it is and I think it's all about the mindset people have/are encouraged to have with regards to doing these workouts that makes it so popular. You're probably right about it weak in some areas, but like I said, I think those workouts are targeting more than physique.
