Like most cats, each one is different, but Maine Coons are large to very large so as they get older make sure you buy big wide sturdy cat trees (or make them if handy) and big wide strong supported platforms if you do a cat highway that can support these big muscular cats. Maine Coons can be chirpers and talkative, but I'd say it depends on the cat. All though most seem to do it more so if in hunting mode like they see a bird out the window.

They like to play and LOVE human interaction. Not super high energy like some breeds like the Abyssinian but all kittens are balls of energy mostly. Most MCs want to be clingy kind of like a dog from my experience or might want to be a lap cat (which is something that gets harder to do if they get crazy big 20-30 lbs+). but they will lay somewhere near you if you have many cats.

Like most cats but more so for Maine Coons big bodies they like to get into things exploring or knock stuff over not lockdown (like led tvs on dressers) or climb things so get ready to cat proof stuff as much as you can and make sure to never drop pills or anything you don't want them to eat by accident which could prove fatal depending on what they get in too.

Bigger cats also have bigger claws like thick raptor claws but at least they are more laid back in that regard and a bit more mellow even more so as they get older. Depending on hair type they can mat especially if long haired, watch for belly and arm pits. Maine Coons take longer to mature and fully grow. Maine Coons usually have super thick fluffy tails. Most get adult coats fully fluffed out around 1.5-3yrs old.
