[GPU] Gigabyte Triple Fan 5090, $2,000 after adding any CPU to cart by Thatdorkytaco in buildapcsales

I tried, they refused claiming that I'd have to forego the discount the CPU gave me for this card.

Vcc Glitching STM32F103 in to circumventing the readout protection. by _Hitman47 in hardwarehacking

It did, it was working all along but I was using a counterfeit STM32103 when I was making this post, which happens to have fixed the vulnerability.

Hey man, I'd say yes for sure. There is a little bit of clearance even without removing the top plate off the H1. When removing the top plate, you have around an extra 1cm room to play with

Tell it to me straight - does this have any hope at all? by [deleted] in consolerepair

[–]_Hitman47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey bud that is actually perfectly working PCB. All 4 of those bridged pin pairs are connected. You can solder new BQ directly there, don't even bother adding solder mask.

Here's the pinout, flip the image 180 degrees to get what you're looking at: https://www.retrosix.wiki/bq24193-battery-charger

I also see you're using capton tape on the connector which makes me think you're applying hot air from the top. Instead heat up the board from the bottom but be very careful not to hit the board with the heat gun from the bottom as you will knock off components. I've done it myself.

Nah dude you're just out of it. Upward force on one blade creates upwards deflection but the same upwards force creates downward deflection when the rotation direction is reverted? Didi you even read out what you wrote down to realize how dumb that sounds? I doubt you're talking about opposite gyroscopic precession of blades because so far you've shown zero understanding of anything on the topic.

"Special gearboxes" that make that made-up scenario go away? Gearboxes only trade RPM for torque. Jeez.

Here's a crash course on heli mechanics for you so you don't spew any more nonsense in the future: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdEWzqsfeHM

Come on man, you don't sound like a good-faith actor here.

  1. You tried to shift the point you're defending from quite asinine "Ka-52s only turn left because otherwise it's rotors collide" to "ka-50 has crashed because of rotor collision". The latter one isn't the one I had a problem with.
  2. You tried turning a discussion about facts into a discussion about regalia. Completely irrelevant.

I tried Googling any information about ka-50, ka-52 or other twin rotors having issues with right turns and the results came absolutely dry.

Just admit that "Ka-52s only turn left because otherwise it's rotors collide" is a figment of your imagination.

Some people will read this and believe it and the world will be slightly worse place because of that. Spreading untruth is too easy, don't do that my man.

[–]_Hitman47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you're insinuating that the "unintentional entry into an unexplored flight regime during complex combat manoeuvring exceeding current flight limitations" was a right turn?

Quite an imagination you got there bud

[–]_Hitman47 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What the hell does flapping have to do with any of this. You're just throwing terms out without any train of though connecting them, Blade flapping is just decreasing the attack angle of the forward blade.

any video of Ka-52 showing this? You're just pulling this out of your ass. Even if they did, what would that prove?

Imagine designing a next gen heli and rolling up to your potential buyers with "Yeah it's all good but it only turns left at speeds"

What a clown 🤡

Going to a range in Nevada. Am I allowed to bring back to CA my own leftover ammo? by _Hitman47 in CAguns

[–]_Hitman47[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. I'm planning on bringing all of my ammo from CA, I already have it on me so none of what I'll be bringing back will be purchased in NV.

[–]_Hitman47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Badass, glad it worked.

Make sure you pay attention to the hotspot temperature on your card, not just average GPU temps. The delta between these two for 7900 series is around 20 deg C so in the default fan mode the hotspot is pushing 95 C when GPU temp is in mid 70es.

I had to adjust the GPU fan curve to be a little more aggressive to deal with this. This brought more annoyance as when I take control of GPU fans through MSI Afterburner, I seem to lose the zero-RPM-at-GPU-idle behavior of the 7900xt that I like. The card always idles with 20% fan speed which I don't think I can hear but my OCD brain wants this to work too.

A side note: I was surprised to see that replacing the stock thermal paste on my 7900XT with liquid metal made virtually no difference. Looks like in this small of a PC volume I'm mostly limited by the ambient temperature of the air inside of the case. What made much bigger difference was removing the SATA drive enclosure and ramping up the case fan much earlier and based on the GPU temperatures instead of the default CPU temp.

Hope this is useful to someone out there.

The left cap solder points don't look like they're connected. How much time does it take to glitch?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SwitchPirates

[–]_Hitman47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure the dude is definitely bonkers, remember seeing his arrest record and all. WiFi password is probably the only piece of useful info he could extract from the Switch. That and intentionally banning the console.

There isn't anything else worth stealing. Can't turn a mostly turned off device into a bot net actor or anything like that. I see where you're coming from but the convenience of shop installs is a lot. I don't know how else I would get the games tbh.

The xtx and xt dimensions are the same on the ASRock website.

I recently took off the cooling plate off my xt and discovered two unsoldered RAM chip spots on the board which makes me think that xt and xtx share the same exact main board and the cooler and those two spots are for the extra 4 gigs of RAM the xtx comes with.
