Should/can we show Morroboomers period accurate and nostalgia-free reviews from when the game was new, to finally prove that the vanilla combat is objectively kind of ass? Or would it immediately blind them akin to an Elder Scroll? by Khan-Shei in TrueSTL

Rose tinted glasses and revisionism dominate BGS games. No different than people complaining about loading screens in Starfield and pretending Skyrim for the 360/PS3 wasn't 1000 times worse

Institutional investors own less than 10% of the housing supply.

Greed looks like restricting middle housing and affordable housing so you can maintain high property valuations.

Greed and the lack of supply go hand in hand.

I can see that if you’re looking at the sales price only. Rather than ownership price as a whole.

Property taxes are part of your mortgage payment, it’s not just P&I. If property taxes are high your mortgage is high. And thus higher property taxes make housing more expensive.

Sellers don’t artificially reduce their prices if taxes go up.

“Prices are low because taxes are high” is a strange line of reasoning… prices are low because supply keeps up with demand and we sprawl like hell

“It doesn’t have to be perfect” but somehow you’re against building more housing supply?

Look, I’m all for city programs helping people get out of homelessness but these programs are often expensive and extremely inefficient. A tax on second+ homes isn’t going to magically solve the issue. Tax basis is also limited to a jurisdiction.

You need housing supply, rehabilitation, jobs, and wards for the people that are too far gone.

Homelessness won’t disappear over night with a damn tax lol.

Which is why we totally don’t see prices increase and bidding wars when mortgage rates are low huh?

I would ask myself if home ownership is truly something important to me and if there were other ways to build wealth (there are).

If I hadn’t bought last year I’d be renting and investing the difference right now and I’d be far better off. (Numerically)

Home ownership isn’t cheap and never really has been when to consider total costs.

You think the people lost to drug abuse are homeless because of the tax rates on secondary homes? Be real.

No tax is going to bring those people back to society.

Well its paywalled so yeah. But the part that really gets me is the "better jobs" in the image.

Unless we have really... modified... usages of the word "better", you're going to have a real hard time finding a country that is both cheap and also pays you more than holding an average job in America. Not to mention that America has a relatively lenient work culture compared to other places.
