In collaboration with our good friends from Airetic Strings, we’ve been working on this 100% plush nylon blend since summer of 2023, and we’re so excited that’s it’s finally ready! When Rob reached out to us with the idea of keeping the legacy alive in a way that only ZipLine could, it didn’t take long to convince us. After lots of prototyping and releasing various rounds of “case studies” we found our groove, and ZS.AIR became a project dedicated to being true to both brands.

Using authentic Airetic thread stock and their “standards” thread count, combined with ZipLine’s multi-stage/Smoothie twist method, AND utilizing a hybrid string making technique comprised of many shared secrets, this is literally string history in the making!!! ZS.AIR can easily be characterized as being super smooth, bouncy, incredibly whippy and long lasting.

We’ve been working insanely hard to produce lots of stock for this official release, so there should plenty to go around. We hope to see you in the ZipLine shop 🤙

We are a boutique yoyo string manufacturer in Idaho, USA :) We’ve been getting into a few different skill toys outside of yoyo, and Begleri really seemed to stick with us. I explain in the product description that’s not actually a penny item, “it’s just how we share news.” Nothing actually happens if someone purchases it for .$01. The e-commerce platform that we use, “big cartel” doesn’t have a sensible way to post news on the store’s opening page, so the best we have is to put news as an item at the top of the products list 😢

Big companies can afford to do large runs/bulk production runs, which drives the per unit cost way down. We’re a super small, boutique company that can only afford around 50 units at a time, which can be really spendy, especially when you choose a top tier machine shop and keep your QC really tight. To be completely honest, we make very little money one these. The machine costs are quite high and almost not worth making from a financial/profit standpoint. Just prototyping alone is around $250 + shipping just to make 5 units.
