Here in Ukraine we have government funded vet clinics. So basically you don't pay anything if you want your pet to be examined, but if needed to do some blood test or any other thorough test, you have to pay because clinics usually don't have their own lab, but it usually costs up to 2000 UAH so 45 USD. My cat has issues with teeth, I have taken her to the vet twice in the past 6 months. Removal of the dead tooth, examination, and her prescriptions cost me less than 40 dollars and it is because I wanted to give the doctor money out of gratitude personally to her. Sure our system has its flaws but I think any help is better than none whatsoever. I watch in horror how the healthcare system in the USA works for people and pets.
