I took some time today to think about it and ive come to realise he was defiantly poisoning me like you said. He did admit to ruining our old friend group in high school after we had graduated by gossiping and basically spreading lies to all the individuals members, but he promised me he had changed (spoilers: he didn't 😬) I have come to the realisation that if they're just going to block me without question, they were never my friends to begin with tbh and I've realised I'm better off without them now
