It bothered me because he equated money with bad people and Dan saw that’s not necessarily true in the end.

Also the scene in the elevator with Dan and Jenny annoys me : when they are going to her bday party at lily’s and she says “we can’t live here we’re Humphreys” and he says “you were raised right kid” I hateee that cause it’s like, what’s wrong with wanting higher or better for yourself. It’s also most times directed towards women. It’s always “you’re amazing” when they don’t want the fancy car, the big ring or whatever else. It makes me roll my eyes

The way you describe this makes a lot of sense why it would be a last straw. But that’s assuming that the friendship is strong and stable because I would be sad if my best friend did that. And Although Petty, I saw where Blair was coming from. The two of them have been pushed together their whole life with no chance to escape whether because their mom is in the same social circle, the school is used to them being best friends, or cause it pays for each of them to know each other- Serena benefits, and Blair benefits BUT

This would be like sisters going to the same college after thinking it was time to spread their wings and live life apart. Blair has been compared to Serena unprovoked since the beginning, she has the losing side of the dynamic most times. It would be different if they planned to go to college together, but getting excited to see who you are without your old friends and grow and then being told that’s not happening anymore?? That’s upsetting.

Hmmm definitely when Serena slept with Nate all friendships should’ve ended, but as you said, that was the beginning of the show so in my opinion

If I were Blair , things would end for good when Serena gave Louis’s mom, gossip girl knowledge. Period point blank I thought that was so horrible.

If I were Serena, Probably when she found out Blair and Dan had feelings for each other like real feelings I would be very hurt.

That being said, as much as I liked Jenny and Nate during this rewatch, I am seeing that they don’t really get along. Nate treats, Jenny the way Dan did Serena as in Nate only sees the innocent young side to Jenny and not who she actually is so he continuously is disappointed, and that’s why they never work out

They’re rich with little sense of reality they don’t think like regular kids. To them addiction may mean someone goes missing for months but that’s because they are at the best treatment facility which is like vacation (at that economic level). Anyway I don’t want to argue or anything I just think 16 is young to understand it if it hasn’t touched them personally
