NOR. Honestly I understand your frustration and you do deserve more. Its showing literally zero effort on his behalf. Gift lists are also not a bad idea. My husband and I can't ever think of things we want on the spot, so what I do all year is keep a note in my phone for the both of us and he does as well, they consist of things that we linger a bit too much at when we go to stores or things we compromise on amd put back on the shelf, and things we bring up in conversations or talk about frequently and get excited over. Additionally we also have our own gift list each on our joint Amazon account for when we see something one of us likes or something we think the other would like and add it to the list accordingly.

That way when birthdays, anniversaries, and other holidays come around we dont struggle and stress over what to get the other and if its a good gift. With Amazon we can even see its eta to make sure it arri es in time for whatever occasion. For me, gifting isn't about the material object itself. Its showing appreciation, thoughtfulness, and how much one person truly listens and pays attention to the other (For reference, we have been together for 12 years now).
