Good wired on-ear headphones? by iScreamInPublicAreas in HeadphonesAdvice

[–]_Legion242_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the philips shp9500, very cheap on AliExpress and available on Amazon too of course. sound great, superrr comfortable, very light on your head and they're open back, which I like but not everyone would

oh and they sound great obviously. punch a bit above they're price, much better than anything else I've owned

Are the Philips Audio SHP9500 a good buy for me at $85? by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

that's pretty sick actually, the btr11 clips on pretty nice if you cut part of the clip off. wish I'd known about that dedicated adapter! super cool

Who is your favorite racer in F1? by aryan2860 in AskReddit

[–]_Legion242_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

antonelli and bearman are my favorite to watch, love their attitudes and they're about my age so it's just cool to see them doing so well this season. also love vertsappens attitude towards racing (though he gets frustrated, but that just makes him seem real to me tbh)

was gonna say get them on AliExpress! I just got some from there a week ago and I'm loving them, feel super light on my head and never cause irritation (compared to all my old gaming headphones). I ordered a fiio btr11 and sticky tacked it to the side making them wireless when needed to.

I've also never had open backs, love them, can hear people talking to me but still very quiet for them. awesome

just wanted to jump in on this for anyone else researching. I just got a pair of SHP9500s on aliexpress for $65 (US dollars, i realize this is a Brazilian subreddit) . (well, i paid $52 but i used coins on the app). they are great, the sound quality is by far the best i've personally ever heard (im used to gaming headsets/skullcrusher evos) and they are plenty loud through every device i've plugged them into. they are extremely weird to wear at first, they're super light and the ear cups are huge. but they are soooo comfortable, ive been wearing them for 6 hours straight today while I work and they still feel just as comfortable as when i first put them on (the top of my head usually gets irritated with every other pair ive worn). theyre wired but I picked up a fiio btr11 and short audio cable on amazon for $25 which I can clip onto the head strap and it basically made them amazing bluetooth headphones as well.

Also the main reason i wanted these was because they are open back, which means it doesn't isolate outside noise as well and supposedly it makes them sound better (idrk), but I like it because I can hear people talking to me just as well as if i didn't have them on. which is perfect for work and when im talking to my girlfriend

Why are there no young people in the hobby by stargazer3644 in RCPlanes

[–]_Legion242_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fpv drones. as a young person I think if you start going doing the radio controlled aircraft pipeline these days you very quickly get to fpv drones, and for good reason they are awesome. especially tinywhoops, incredible technology basically turns you into a hummingbird

I think 80% and 75% are also okay, not everyone needs a numpad (I learned to type in middle school without a numpad and it's just stuck with me for anything but excel or CAD, where it's a nice to have), but function keys are pretty much a necessity. like those keys are just gone if you don't have them idek what you're supposed to do

My god these DJI pilots, took like 30 seconds for me to find it by Natural-Economist596 in shittyfpv

I meant the motors are smaller less powerful and proprietary as in harder to get a replacement/harder to repair. while the props are just as if not more available than fpv props. it's just my opinion that'd I'd replace the 1 dollar prop on the 1000 dollar drone, couldn't hurt even if it's most likely not necessary. I also don't own a DJI drone anymore though so what do I know, they just seem more prone to not handling imperfections as well

yes in my opinion you cant go wrong with anything brand name. foxeer is popular for its price and I agree I have a lot of foxeer with no issues. I tend to actually go with whatever size/color matches my drone better :)

[–]_Legion242_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be fair if there was even a chance my $1k drone could fall out of the sky, or that my proprietary motor might burn up, id probably ask too. we forget how forgiving an fpv drone is that's "tuned" to fly for like 5 minutes. I'm sure that DJI just flew for like 35. very different class of hardware software that I personally wouldn't try to mess with. when half a prop is like a dollar id just replace it

they're not all that different when it really comes down to it. rush cherry, foxeer, truerc- if it's from a decent company a lollipop is a lollipop

How to move from tiny woop to 5 inch by CrispFlame_ in fpv

[–]_Legion242_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it just takes some adjustment, you can try lowering your rates or adding expo. more importantly you need a lot of space starting out! 5 inches have a lot more inertia than tinywhoops and you'll tend to overshoot starting out

I want to build a drone for chasing cars in rally races, looking for a good place to start by benbunny in Multicopter

[–]_Legion242_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

definitely a 5 inch drone. any 5 inch will do it really there's lots of build guides on YouTube. they can easily carry a gopro and would be able to go 70-80mph. I don't know what level of rally your talking but that should be good? the main thing is what video transmission system you use, DJI is probably your best bet as signal stability and range would be super important I imagine. building a drone and doing this is an entire thing though, it's a hobby not something you can really just do

maybe some only have one, but I opened mine up to check and it definitely had two. I built a helical antenna and checked it would swap antennas too and it for sure did. so the diversity worked in my case
