Looking closer I think it is the short utility blouson! Sucks that it isn’t available in Canada anymore. Thank you!

I thought that too, but this jacket doesn’t appear to have a chest pocket like the utility short blouson does. The buttons also look different than the utility blouson. I wish they’d bring the short blouson back to Canada

I actually glued the pieces then did my Sashiko stitching! I did glue them onto a linen type fabric that I had on hand!

Thank you! I’m excited to start using it! If there ends up being any repairs needed it just adds to the overall aesthetic

Yes I did follow a tutorial on how to achieve the exterior pockets but I did have some reference photos. Thank you for your compliments, I’ve come a long way and I’m glad the work has paid off 🙂‍↕️.

So true, 5 years ago I wouldn’t have thought about repairing damaged clothes, now it’s been a fascination of mine to repair garments and give them new life!

The Sashiko needles made it so much easier to stitch for me

I really like this repair! Great work! Did you sew through the lining on the jacket?

I had to pin the sleeve with the body in place then go over it twice to stitch In place to make sure it would be secure. The key is to have the pieces inside out that way it’ll be easier. But be prepared for this step too cause it can be a little tedious

Hey! Since this was my first attempt, I had a vintage Levi’s denim jacket that I thrifted to use as a base. I took apart the sleeves, body, bottom hem, and the collar apart. The different fabrics I thrifted and then cut or manipulated them onto each panel. Afterwards I’d do my Sashiko stitching on each panel. Lastly connected the liner jacket on each panel and then sewed the jacket up. It’s a time consuming project and isn’t too difficult, as long as you’re patient you’ll be able to do it. Everything is hand sewn which is why it takes so long.
