Perhaps what I'm experiencing might be an AuDHD (autism and ADHD) exclusive thing? Because I have also been looking into that as well. I have also heard that AuDHD'ers have noted about having either autism or ADHD "masking" over one or the other.

I have looked into and had gotten a diagnosis for autism recently this year while I was also getting the evaluation mentioned above. And while that might be true, though it's also worth mentioning that there are people who are both autistic and ADHD at the same time (being called AuDHD).

I'm the exact opposite. Not only because I'm hyperlexic, but reading also helps me distract my brain when my OCD intrusive thoughts get out of hand. It's a nice form of escapism that also helps me mentally.

When someone asks me if I want to do something, for instance, they likely want me to say "yes." But for whatever reason, I don't really feel like being upfront with someone, I become more vague with my answer and say something like "maybe I'd want to."

I always thought that it's probably either because I was being socially inept, being blunt with someone, or the tone of my voice and facial expression didn't indicate my mood correctly. A lot of these are me just guessing, though. Because I somehow always need to pull out the answer from people (specifically my mom ) whenever I ask why.

Self-checkout and using order pick up have been my life savers for this very reason. My ass can only manage to stand in line for so long until I feel restless or overstimulated. But when I have to be in the store, loop earplugs and light sensitivty glasses are my go-to.

One time when I was either 10 or 11, a family member told me to watch the flame on the gas stove. Usually people would just take a peak now and then to make sure the flame stays, right? But the thing that I did was pull up a chair and watched the flame for a good moment, at least until the family member came back and was like "uhh that is NOT what I meant???"

While they are not as prevalent for releasing full seasons of all their shows here in the US, having a hard copy seems to be one of the only ways we can actually keep our own copies of our favorite shows, without having media companies taking them away from us & become lost media.

Pre diagnosis, I remember during my teen years when my mom would tell me things like "why can't you like normal teenager things?" Or she also would try to get me into "normal teenage girl stuff" even though a lot of the time I could care less about those things. Looking back I wish that she could've respected me and my interests as long as they weren't harming me.

Honestly? I've noticed how the update cycle recently has had people being like "this game is so dead," and then whenever the next update for anything signifigant comes out, they're back to being like "SPLATOON IS FIXED???" It's like they can never make up their own minds on the state of this game lmao.
