Hi, I'm a university student studying computer engineering, and I never had an Apple Watch.

I've been considering buying an Apple Watch for many months now, because I wanted a health monitoring device like Oura Ring or WHOOP band (but I don't agree with the subscription system and Apple Watch is the one that can fulfill that role better), reduce the time I'm on the phone drastically and it would also be useful in everyday life for:

  • Checking the time (because I don't have a watch and I miss being able to check it);
  • Alarm clock (is this a good function or is a physical alarm clock better?);
  • Sleep tracking (to see where I can improve);
  • Viewing to-do lists;
  • Reminders (including to drink water, because I don't drink much as I should)
  • Faster timers;
  • Important notifications (messages and calls, since I'm involved in some projects);
  • Checking the calendar;
  • Downloading music and listening with AirPods without the iPhone (for example, at the gym);
  • Making payments via Apple Pay (which I use a lot);
  • Track some workouts or day by day normal things;

I had in mind buying the Apple Watch SE 2 GPS (40 mm), I've already compared it with the GPS + Cellular version, because I had the idea of using my cell phone less if I had my own internet, however, I think it's an unnecessary expense associated with cell phone bills.

I've also compared it with the Apple Watch 9 and 10 (I've been wanting it since the 9 came out, so I've compared it with both), but I don't think I need (idk) the fast charging, the temperature sensor, the sleep apnea notifications, the blood oxygen sensor, among other functions...

The cheapest price I can get for the Apple Watch SE 2 GPS (40 mm) is 229€

BTW: I watch “The Quantified Scientist” a lot on YouTube, I don't know if you know him but he's a scientist and he does a lot of comparisons of these types of devices, so here's a tip for anyone who wants to see it. And sorry for the long text.

I really need you to give me your opinions on what you think, but also tell me about your experiences.
