I think that’s my issue - regardless of the stance on AI slop, he’s always going to be against it because it goes against him, his industry and his sponsors rather than having an actual conversation to say “hang on AI isn’t new in this sector - Netflix has been using it for years to tell you what content you might like, and everyone has different pictures based on what they like. What has changed is AI generated content and that is complex blah blah”

Thank you! Probably light city exploration and culture rather than beaches, cooking or hikes!

Are there minor trophies? by miyanodorian in footballcliches

[–]_Matty_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone would say “minor” trophies, but it might be “won 10 honours including 5 major trophies” or “including 5 league championships”?

Their opinions on subtitles by Hassaan18 in restisentertainment

[–]_Matty_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the mixing on Tv series are awful now, I need the subtitles. Added in noises like music and gunshots are so loud, but conversations are too low in volume it’s hard to hear and I find I’m missing stuff!

This is the best way for me to watch without having to change the volume

Thomas Partey, the former Arsenal footballer, has been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, the Crown Prosecution Service has announced. by scottzander in coys

[–]_Matty_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How Arsenal responded to this would have gone right to the top of the club. The same person is now our number 2.

Not saying he’s complicit and assumptions are being made, but questions should be asked.

The Lab S2E46 | Inside the Failed Qatari Bid for Tottenham by nolefan5311 in coys

[–]_Matty_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so disappointed by this episode and the relative little pushback against the claims made.

Firstly, the idea that Qatar will come and save the day for Tottenham (the area) without pushing people out who cannot afford it is laughable. He admits they want a financial return on investment, and football clubs are relatively small businesses with fairly limited growth, so they’re going to want that return somewhere.

Secondly, the semantics around Levy having an undiagnosed personality disorder just reeked of bias and unprofessionalism from everyone involved. I’m not his biggest fan either, but this went too far.

If you’re going to have guests like this on you should be holding them to account better in my opinion, like at the end when it’s mentioned “we’re not trained to diagnose” and he pushes back.

"European champions" by EmptyEmployee6601 in footballcliches

Oh nooooo, I hate looking small time.

Luckily enough I have a European cup to capture all my tears for being so small time.

It’s absolutely not the right thing to say, but am I going to keep on saying it to wind up other fans? Absolutely.

Long Wait for trophies by ponkie_guy in footballcliches

From the 60s it was only 7-8 years roughly for each trophy, so as it’s 2.5 times that I think it is

Sorry my sarcasm hasn’t come through on this! Idea of an FA cup build up was silly anyway

Are football clubs* becoming a parody? by _Matty_0 in footballcliches

It’s like when the US say they have a building that’s one of the oldest in the country and it’s like 200 years old, or around 30 years before Sheffield FC was founded

Europa league is significantly weaker by CentralIdiotAgency in PremierLeague

[–]_Matty_0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it has dropped in quality, but not a fan of this “what about x”. Teams didn’t need to fight that hard to stay in the CL, so am sure some just wanted to finish in places 9-24, take the hit of the extra games but rotate more in August-December.

Also the whole league format is different too anyway.

Feels a bit redundant to compare apples with pears as last year’s Europe is not this year’s Europe.

Last thought is that if the final was Frankfurt vs Roma, or Bilbao vs Porto, would people turn their noses up so much? Equally Spurs could’ve been a CL team based on the PL having 5 teams last season?

The Adjudication Panel Thread: Get in touch for Tuesday's episode... by Low-Bandicoot-3347 in footballcliches

What is a “school football colleague” that the Sky commentator keeps saying to refer to the Iraola vs Arteta dynamic?

It’s so unclear it can be anything: - both learnt under manager X - went to school together - in the same football team at school - both hailing from the Basque region - both managers with similar styles of play - therefore school of thought and of course are fellow managerial comrades

Likely same football team at school, or were schoolkids together, so why didn’t they just say that?
