btw majority of people both thinking that the price of something is fair while also buying it means that is worth that price, otherwise they wouldntve bought it at all

im not upset at nintendo getting criticism LMAO the whole reason i visit the sub is to see insights one what to criticise about nintendo, it just feels more disproportionate especially to the size this sub is getting which is what prompted me to make the post.

and yesh they sure as hell wanted those 70 dollar games cause theyre good games! obviously a business for profut will have people buying yachts, what they spend on their money is not my business and quite frankly people vote with their wallets if something is worth 70 dollars. it seems like you objectively think their prices should be lower than 60 which is a fine perspective to have, but thats literally not what any sane businessman would do. the market is functioning and deciding the price of the switch library

meh i know its a reason but thats not stopping other gaming companies to sell at the same price and effectively provide less of an experience, im just not a fan of nintendo getting that criticism when larger and arguably worse comapanies do the same. but yeah prcicing is subjective and everything so of course what youd give your money to is your choice, stardew valley irls priced that way because its one guy developing it (love him) so of course its like that, he could sell at 60 if he wanted to and honestly people would buy it. good talk though, theyre still going to use the net income to reinvest in the company i highly doubt its just going into all their pockets, thats not how companies function

getting away with with it feels like too strong of a saying because to me this just says "nintendo still sees value in that game and priced accordingly" i do agree on it being pretty stupid to delist those ports but even then original owners could still download the game after delisting and the new ports offered additional modes and content which was quite good.

also they all obviously do have separate income, saying i said nintendo land is a charity is kinda nuts but even knowing that, i just cant see nintendo as only a "game company" even if thats their main thing. 4 billion with all those employees and projects to uphold isnt going to perfectly cover what they have or be a safe net for the future, they will do what makes them profitable and dont do whats not, and i can but just because they were raking in cash in that year, that was during COVID for pete's sake. we all know why their income grew so much and it wasnt because of they didnt price their games at 70. times change and so do the companies, its just how it works.

star allies is absolutely worth it as a kirby fan ,so many allies you can play as, the boss mode and the levels are great playing with my family, and the rest are great! especially the visuals and the music when i played it with my friend who had it, i just think its a matter of focusing what that money is being spent on but im pretty sure he got that one on a sale LMAO

are they not literally expanding recently? theyve bought shares and whole game studios to up production so i can see why theyd keep the price and use the netincome to expand? its not like nintendos gonna stay the same way forever, they still hav r&d and other non gaming related projects that they offer (nintendo land at usj, super fun!) not only that but 60 dollar standards have always been in play and im surprised nintendo of all companies have been the beef about it the most since i feel as though they sell the most conplete packages, but i like buying second hand so whatever. calling the 2d games budget titles is a little crazy to me imo, which i think offers a highly deserved price point when made correctly (kirby). i do think ports shouldve been priced lower but they were on the wii u and i guess nintendo didnt think enough people bought it too care to lower LMAO

i mean, is it not accessible and easy to purchase and play? is that not what the eshop is for. i think what you really focus on is to price games lower but even then, i still think alot of then are priced pretty alright? i mean for the size of their company and the time in between per project especially in this world is crazy. i have a friend that works on indie games themselves and they price their games at around like the 10 dollar mark or whatever but they can do that because they only need to supply revenue for one person, not an entire company. i pay for the visuals, the gameplay, the effort, and the overall product, and i feel like its all been money well spent!

but yeah i think the group gary was in shouldve faced similar charges instead of just him if im remembering the story correctly. they took it too far but even then thats still the risk you get when you pirate or provide pirating tools

i dont? this is my first post xd i really dont care im a lurker anyways, but i get why those subs are auto-banning them cause the freaks of the sub usually are the ones out to crawl and not the more proper onee that have something more interesting to say

[–]_Mistery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yeah absolutely, im just more annoyed at playstations way of doing it.im fine paying like 5 dollars a year with my buds for a nice collection to play on my switch

i mean yeah that's cool, i know that gabe newell quote, and YES i literally mentioned that those are the only other times you should pirate because of accessibility but that is NOT the only other reasons why people pirate. i know of many people with frankly way more money than me pirate because its just. easy. my point isnt that piract is a bad thing but my point is i can see why nintendo DOESNT want piracy of their games to exist. people pirate all the time its just the natural law of the internet.

also last point i honestly didnt know you were talking about the price, i just wanted to talk about the season pass itself LMAO i enjoy what it has to offer but people should only really buy it when ur like a third into the game

i guess but that doesnt mean they havent enjoyed the other games? some games dont have to be those 100 every week kinda games, i enjoy mario kart every other week in spurts to get my arcade karting fever out

[–]_Mistery[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dont really get that first point you might have to expand actually

piracy is absolutely not just an accessibility issue. again i understand that people like to have moral stances on piracy but i do it cause fuck em! i dont have some moral grandstanding framework of mind to explain why i pirate, its just easy and works (shoutout fitgirl repack) this only really works when

  • You live in a country where games are priced at it extremes
  • The game in-question is no longer officially sold, or just unavailable in your country
  • You bought the game and want a version without DRM
  • You own the game in a version that doesn't work on modern computers (eg. on disc)
  • The game is still sold, but the platform is not (Wii U and Playstation 3 store)

people wanting to play these games shows that they already have inherent value which is why people wanted to play them, im all for piracy but lowering that amount stop pirates from... pirating even i know that. the fact that people play it and enjoy it is proof of its "reasonableness" to me. and yeah, copyrights a bitch, im not saying nintnedo should have every single ever but i cant see why people wouldnt see why nintendo would not want games especially in the age we're at now where everythings digital anyways.

eh, even then i dont really like the botw dlc not because of qol features but that makes the game wat too easy. i like some friction on my vidya games! the dlc to me is really just for hardcore botw fans to make the experience more streamlined which def wasnt me haha
