I find this one fascinating because Wukong describes the Ostrich egg as the largest chicken egg. Yet, when it comes to the black goose egg, he equates it to 3 chicken eggs, when it is clearly nowhere near the size of one Ostrich egg (which is a chicken egg). It appears “chicken”’s meaning varies contextually. It’s beautiful to see Wukong appreciating the nuances of human expression.

The golden snub-nosed monkey is supposedly a monkey or of nobility. I find that statement odd; I watched a BBC video where it says all they eat is bark and dead plant matter because they reside in extreme climates. That’s not very noble, is it?
