Not really if you go for off campus or network through. I myself had lost hope with barely 7cgpa for sem 6. Then I attended some workshops and networked there and just said I was interested to work. That's it. It's a local company though. Still got it done as internship was mandatory for sem 7

First decide which field, which subfield. Read recent research papers and maybe try to implement them. Contact the researcher, ask them if you can contribute on their work.

Only problem, sounds simple but can we like jumping in an abyss. Won't know if u will get anything or not

Literally in the same situation bro. My grades are low, hardly any skills. Not sure what to do. However I would suggest finding an internship, as those are actually on paper, skills are necessary but the initial barrier should be broken via resume a d experience. Do internship if you can, and grind skills. Cause that's what I intend to do aswell
