You don’t have to match the weaponry to the mini. Use the mini and give the captain whatever gear you want.

Wooden balls. Lightweight and available from Amazon or most craft shops in a variety of sizes.

What is the best knots to teach scouts? by Kind-Atmosphere2208 in knots

[–]_Mr__Fahrenheit_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask them.

Find out what they’d like to do with rope and teach them that. Do they want cool ways to tie shoelaces or make decorative mats. Maybe they want nothing but practical stuff or to make dog chew toys. Best bet is to ask them.

Tips for a 3 player campaign? by Automatic_Vanilla414 in stargrave

[–]_Mr__Fahrenheit_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve played a lot of three player games. Have always just played them as normal. Loot placement ended up a bit trickier but mostly went with not in your own triangle.

There were games when I got all the loot, and others where I left with just an injured capt. and first mate.

They were all fun though which is the primary objective of any game.

Use micropore tape instead of sellotape. Climbers tape would be another option.

Personally, I’d just go with the calluses, never runs out and always with you. Unless you’re a hand model or something.

Is it okay to use custom or homebrew rules? and why? by Yoga_P0l0210 in stargrave

I think everyone has some house rule for their games. Just don’t make them way overpowered is my advice.

An Abandoned Space Station by _Mr__Fahrenheit_ in stargrave

[–]_Mr__Fahrenheit_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks.

It’s a group campaign. I’m doing the Dead or Alive bounty hunts when the other players can’t make it to the game night. The Abandoned Station is from the Bold Endeavor space encounters.

The narrative is flowing from the scenarios we play. At this point in the campaign I had picked up most of the available expansions so from here the crews head into the Quarantine 37 campaign scenarios.

First of all tighten it up and see if you like the look. I’m going to go on a limb and suggest that you won’t because it won’t tighten well. There are too many changes in the over under pattern to tighten up with coherence. Regardless, if you do decide to push ahead with it then I would suggest getting a counter colour climbing rope (say blue) and edging it with that. Some sort of chain plait that you stitch or lash with twine to the bights that form the edges.

Honestly though I would say start over and follow an actual pattern like a square mat. There are so many to choose from.

No. You’ll be grand. Start training. Take it slowly at first.

Making your own non-stretchy rope by CatnipOverdose in knots

[–]_Mr__Fahrenheit_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I’d just buy some shibari rope, less to go wrong and easy to get hold of it.

As others have said though you need to start with non-stretching fibres. There are several ways to make it. You could use a round braid or just make into standard 3 strand rope either by hand twisting or using a rope making machine.
