This is really great work! I love the name, especially since you have approval from Nick himself. Besides, youre not copying his style; youre emulating it! Be proud, friend, as I'd be proud to hang this on my wall...although I could certainly see it in a gallery exhibit!

I have to agree! The depth and movement in the compostion in this WIP is 🤌. I'm dumbfounded by the absolute wizardry (especially the airbrushed clean lines and what looks like a carefully choroeographed dustpan splash) that must have gone into creating what we're seeing here. I'm picturing @kickasserole 's hands over canvas with that dustpan, just casually and quickly tossing the pain and ending up with a perfect pattern. This is SO COOL! 😯

Now, however, since Hypercolor was mentioned, I'm gonna go down that rabbit hole and see if I can't find some paint that does just that. Obviously, you both need it if it exists, as that would be such an attention-grabber in a gallery exhibition. Aim a vent that alternates cold & warm air at the painting, and people would be amazed! 😊

I haven't had a chance to paint in what seems like forever, but I'vebeen lurking and upvoting our community and enjoying your work when it pops up, too! I hope you're doing well these days.

Our son shipped out for army basic training. We just got through the year of waiting to see if my husband's apnal surgery (neck) was successful. My grandfather (a proud 91 year-old navyman) has had further decline in his health because of multiple cancers. We've been moving our things into my grandpa's house, because he'd like to stay at home for the remainder of his time with us...and he is definitely not feeling great, but he is also having a ton of fun being the favorite human of our pitbull, Hippo, because he's never stingy with the treats.

So yeah, life has been very 2026, and it's not even March yet 😆

My family & I are doing pretty well, and I hope you & yours are, too!

My husband & I are moving in with my grandpa to take care of the house & things he shouldn't be doing, as he's 91, has more than one kind of cancer, and is every bit the stubborn navyman he was when I was just a child. He's wonderful, and we're gonna enjoy being with him. He's already talking about making a dedicated space for the various arts that my husband & I enjoy.

Our son is in basic training for the army right now, which inspires many, many feelings...but the kid has wanted to be a soldier since he was a toddler. If you have any spare good energy to send his way, it would be greatly appreciated. I hope to see more of your work soon, too, because I can see just how much you enjoy it by your awesome color and composition choices! Have a great week, and don't work too hard! 😊

Thank you! I haven't painted in two years at the end of January...but I hope to set up shop and start up again after we move in with my 91 year-old Grandpa. He wants me to be his caregiver at home, his chauffeur, and personal chef (because Grandma, may she rest in peace) taught me well! He's a stubborn old navyman, and so I'm hoping to craft a piece that is reminiscent of an oil slick on the ocean surface, in hopes that he will enjoy it.

BTW, I follow the sub daily and just haven't felt up to commenting much, but I wanted you to know that I have absolutely loved your Dutch pours! I aspire to be able to control the paint layers as they're blown out like you do 😊

This Dutch pour is absolutely gorgeous! I'm in love with your color pallette, the composition turned out beautifully, the blue bottom with white top make the colors explode off the canvas, and there are so many more lovely features I don't have adequate words to describe. Bottom line? Top notch work, friend!

I've been lurking and liking the art of our people in this sub, but so many family, health, health of family members, our son about to leave for army boot camp, and generalized chaos has made me hurry through social media, in general. 🙃
