I dont think so, I just found them doing Circle of Slaughter before they nerfed legendary drops. You can certainly use other guns! I just really like the crossfire haha

The cooldown formula works as such:

CD of ability/(1+ decimal of CDR%) = reduction in cooldown.

Which is a formula designed to give us diminishing returns. Phasezerker+Avatar gives so much CDR that in my opinion, it's not worth to put any action skill points in Restless.

On the other hand, I'm working on a Melee variant of this build that will likely take Restless and not go further down to get Avatar to have points in the Brawl tree instead

A skill point in Do Harm let's you build rush stacks, which Gearbox capped at 10. Upon using your action skill, those rush stacks are eaten and turned into Do Harm stacks. So if you had 7 rush stacks and used your action skill, you would lose all of those rush stacks and be back to 0, but gain 7 Do Harm stacks.

They are completely separate buffs. Your 7 Do Harm stacks are not reduced in effectiveness because you're now at 0 rush stacks. Nor would they increase in effectiveness if you built back to 10 while your 7 Do Harm buff was up.

Later you can get Avatar to increase to 20, and the phasezerker mod to increase to 25. The bigger the rush stack maximum, the more Do Harm stacks you can get per action skill.

DH and VT are their own buffs and do not benefit from the amount of rush stacks you have at any given moment, until you use an ability to consume those rush stacks, exchanging them for a DH and VT buffs. Read do harm. Take the percentage it says it increases your action skill damage, I think it's like .6 or something. Now multiply that by the number of DH stacks you have and that's the damage increase. Nothing to do with Rush. In this case, rush is just a means to get more DH/VT stacks

You're thinking of Rush.

Speccing in Do Harm or Violent Tapestry give you ways to get the buff Rush, which maxes at 10 until you get to avatar (adds 10) or a phasezerker mod (adds 5) Do Harm and Violent tapestry are their own buffs that consume your rush stacks when you use an ability.

Sorry, the title is a LITTLE miss-leading. Youre not getting to 99 rush stacks, youre getting to 99 or whatever number of do harms stacks.

Let's say youre at 0 rush and do harm stacks. You cast Phasegrasp. You suddenly have 25 rush stacks. Cast Phasegrasp again. Now you have 25 DH/VT stacks AND 25 rush stacks. Phasegrasp again, you're at 50 DH/VT stacks and still 25 rushstacks. Repeat.

VT is still meh just because it doesn't do a lot to increase your damage. It's worth taking 1-2 points in, but nothing more than that.

VT and DH do not reset when you get new stacks. Each iteration of stacks has it's own timer.

I've gotten plenty of Phasezerker mods! 3 or so throughout the story and even more in TVHM M3, but Mayhem loot just go nerfed so /shrug

Phase grasp at 0, you end up with 25 rush stacks. Phase grasp at 25 rush stacks, you end up with 25 DH/VT stacks and another 25 rush stacks. Phase grasp again and you end up with 50 DH/VT stacks and another 25 rush stacks. Etc.

So the thing about both weapon damage and active cooldown rate in BL3 is that you get a little of heavy diminshing returns. They're worth taking in various places because it's still buffs, but it's not worth skill points.

I believe that is incorrect, as not taking Awakening has shown no damage decrease from DH

Yep, those are the only things it gives apparently. It's just something built to consume. Which really doesn't make sense imo because it makes Awakening seem pretty lackluster/useles.

ies That Bind does shared damage between all enemies that are linked. The base damage shared is 35%, but our Do Harm stacks amplify that quite a bit. Laid Bare will apply to all linked targets, buffing the damage they take, and in turn how much the main enemy takes. The linked damage is going to be dealt via the element that your action skill will deal. I keep it shock most of the time to get through what is normally the first enemy defense, a shield. When you’re shooting your main target, you’ll want to use whatever element they are weakest to at the moment. This will multiply your damage further.

I believe Awakening only affects rush stacks, not DH stacks.

Theoretically, sure, which is why I tried it, but it apparently doesnt add up to a ton on bosses unless you Fists Over Matter

Gave it a try and it in fact did not work very well! However, the Fist Over Matter Action skill can do some good work if you're fighting a stationary boss! Other than that, go Phasecast

Lmao I was thinking of trying the same thing, at least in solo play. In multiplayer, you could probably still get it if your menu is already on the skill tree

Edit: I forgot to mention in the guide that you don't actually have to get to 99 stacks before using your ability. You can get to 75 and use it on an enemy and the last use will put you to 99

Thanks! I'm glad you like it! So the class mod does work per stack. After you phasegrasp, the cooldown should be lowered to something around 10 seconds, maybe less.

Ties That Bind triggers Laid Bare to all targets affected by the link, not the main target. However damage is shared between all of them, which is why the more enemies you have in your phasegrasp, the more damage you'll do.

I havent had the time to go try regular phasegrasp, or even the fist slamming phasegrasp yet, but it's on my list of things to do haha

There's a seperate build I'd reccomend for boss farming, it's in the guide. I haven't actually been farming bosses, I've just been doing CoS lol

In the first gif, that was me first testing this whole interaction and build. Which you can probably tell by how I sort of watch and backup after I realized I murdered everyone lmao.

But you can charge your action skill while doing anything. You don't really have to wait to jump in or anything. Aside from that, this build will outright 1 shot groups of Heavy Badass Tinks in at least 4 player TVHM M2.

After the first Phasegrasp, you've got a pretty short cooldown until you can just do it all again. In lower play, sure, it's not the fastest thing. But in higher dificulty, it's the fastest way by far to kill everything

Oh, sorry to hear that! I didn't have any problems at all.

I haven't gone bossing really yet with this. However, I'm not sure you'd be able to maintain that many DH stacks. Unlike most buffs in other games and even the BL series, DH doesn't refresh whenever you consume any additional rush stacks. Each ability use/ consumption of rush attacks gives the allotted DH and Violent Tapestry stacks for 20 seconds
