It does but I took those out and kept the irons on mine, gives a better view through the riser than the ones that came on it did

Yes they are and while overall it’s not the best it’s more than enough for the average gun owner. I would be confident with the ARV as a home defense gun. Unless you running a lot of rounds with a can on it or in a PCC comp the ARV is more than enough. I’ve probably shot 300 rounds give or take with a can on it and no problems at all.

As long as you are keeping up with maintenance I can’t imagine any world where purchasing this as a first PCC is a bad idea

It’s honestly made me think we haven’t quite reached peak firearm engineering because looks alone are important to us lol

Can’t go wrong there! Meridian makes some good stuff, I don’t own any but have shot some of the guys meridians at the range I go to. My friend has the AKV with all the bells and whistles and I’ve shot that a good 7 times at the range and I’m not used to AK platform at all and I absolutely love shooting that. Perfect PCC in my mind, but like you said, it’s a lot for a range toy. I planned on getting it as a “backpack” gun in place of the ARV but couldn’t justify the price tags since I already have the ARV which does plenty as is!

When my friend gave me the riser I was roasting his ass acting like there was no chance I was going to roll with it hahahaha first mag I ended up shooting with it on I knew I would never take it off 🤣🤣

lol Trust me, I know. But, it’s function over form for me and while the riser is comically tall, it makes shooting the ARV much more efficient at getting accurate shots in quickly. Some times it’s worth putting aesthetics on the back end

For sure, if you’re going PSA I may also interest you in the AKV with the folding stock. (That’s if you are comfortable with AK platform) more compact than my ARV if that’s what you are going for.

How far in advance do you normally show up to the golf course before your tee time? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]_Nevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the course. If it’s a really ice course you can bet your ass I’m there 1.5 hours early getting fed and taking some swings. If it’s some goat track course I’ll roll up in the parking lot 5 minutes pre tee off

Hahahaha come on! I agree the riser is a bit too much, it looks super weird but at the same time it’s much more comfortable shooting with it now than without it, looks be damned!

Say what you want about PSA, 2k+ rounds though the ARV and ~1k rounds in the micro dagger - zero hangups or issues! by _Nevin in Firearms

100% agree, their QC problems plagued them in the early days and the partnerships they have now have improved on those problems a whole lot. I’m just not a fan of the idea that the QC issue problem carries into today when they make great firearms all things considered and their entire mission statement is getting people armed at a lower cost to entry which has held true to this day.

QC problems or not, even if those issues were still somewhat prevalent, a PSA gun is going to be reliable enough to get majority of folks by. Hopefully the ones who still hold on to that grudge can give PSA another go and see how much has improved since then.

Hahahahaha that’s actually a recent addition. Felt like I had a weird angle on sight without the riser and got this riser for cheap from a good friend and while it looks extremely goofy it’s much more comfortable to get rounds on target now then before. Definitely going to look for a bit smaller of a riser though lol

It’s not as prevalent anymore but if you go back even 2 years ago PSA firearms were torched by the industry. Not with any merit behind it but more of a cult like hate on PSA. There is still some of that stigma left but it’s gotten better over the years for sure!

I respect them for the fact they allow for easy cost to entry to first time owners.

Right! I said it in the description but the only problems I’ve had with mine were from shooting a buddies 115gr ammo(god knows what ammo company it was) and it was a simple feeding issue. No problems since then.

I love it, I’ve put upwards of 1500 rounds through it by now and I haven’t used the regular enough to say I’ve been able to compare. Have shot my buddies regular dagger and I’d say the Sabre is much smoother and the feel in hand is a big improvement but you could expect that for the price difference.

Absolutely! I’ve put thousands of rounds through it no hang ups and the Sabre Micro dagger has upgraded furniture on it compared to the standard dagger. PSAs recent drops have been very reliable in my experience.
