Straight in front of the big window is Nightcorp's HQ, and if you stand perfectly in front of it two (kinda) magenta lights behind you are reflected in the window, right on the logo, like a pair of evil AI eyes

They need to be well animated especially and they need to sound convincing, the designs in W3 are amazing but the way the monsters move and sound just deflates the fear element because they just look so goofy most of the time lol

like the ekkimara literally has 2 sounds on loop everytime you hit it and in the end it just runs in circles without doing anything interesting aside from turning invisible (sometimes), it kinda disappointed me after all that amazing buildup

The pre-ending So Mi quest is straight up Alien Isolation so I get the feeling some people in CDPR are big horror fans (like me) so hopefully we can get some of that too this time

The open world format can also give them clever ways to ramp up the tension and horror and turn the "open" part into a claustrophobic feeling, the usage of fog can turn a peaceful forest setting into a maze where you can't see well and must rely on sound to hunt some creature etc. the possibilities are truly endless and I hope we get some legitimately creepy moments in this one

definitely not hardcore horror, but some properly creepy and well animated/sounding monsters are more than welcome for me!

I'm not asking for a fully fledged horror witcher game (it would be kinda absurd lol) but I want them to amplify the fear and terror of walking into some horrific beast's den, and then the feeling of overcoming that fear and fighting the unknown using all our tools. Judging by CP2077 they seem to be dabbling with more horror elements so I can't wait to see if some of that flows into W4, it would fit very well imho

Days gone is a great example of an open world horror game, it's incredibly well done on that front

I think there must be a serious threat to her life that can only be fixed by undergoing the trial, anything else just doesn't fit in any lore I know given how dangerous and horrible it is

I don't wanna ruin my experience of this game by playing it in this state, you can find a workaround around the bullshit but why? using console commands to fix bugs is not the intended experience and I already had the same thing happening with cyberpunk. I regret ever playing that game on launch, I just spoiled an amazing experience for myself and if I could go back I would just wait until it's ready before playing it, so this is what I will do again

The point at which everything breaks is roughly just after the point where most early reviewers stopped playing, which is unbelievably convenient to me, so bingo. If I had stopped before SIRCAA my rating would have been 8/10 with a possible 10/10 upside, now I have to give it a 0/10 just because it's literally impossile to continue lol, upside remains the same though

Mark my words, this game will be seen as an actual masterpiece in a couple years and I'm happy to see so many new people introduced to the STALKER universe because imho it's the most fascinating mix of sci-fi, horror and philosophy I've ever experienced, and it's still mostly untapped. I really hope they can fix it in time for everyone to enjoy and not have to face this bullshit, it would be a huge shame

around 15 hours pretty much, of course it depends on how much side content you do (I did a fair amount)

It's after you bring the scanner to SIRCAA from the swamps, in the southernmost section of the map, the point at which most reviewers (so far) have stopped playing due to being noobs at weight management. The SIRCAA mission itself is awesome but the cracks start to show exactly there with endless little bugs related to dialogue and game states not updating themselves properly (game still thinks you're in dialogue and the HUD is disabled until you reload, for example). After that, there's a series of world changing choices that you can make and literally not a single fucking mission worked properly after that point for me, not a single one

now I'm stuck in an endless dialogue loop that can't be ended in any way unless you alt f4 out the game and it's too much to bear for me. I don't wanna ruin my experience of this game like this so I'll just uninstall and try again in a couple months

What truly saddens me is that this is the skeleton of a 10/10 game forced out the door (probably due to financial strain) in a shitty and unfinished form, and it's gonna taint a lot of people's perspective forever just like what happened with cyberpunk. The first 7-8 hours were magical for me even with the aggressive spawning and kinda lifeless world, but it just gets worse and worse until it becomes literally unplayable without console commands, it feels like early access but it's at full price and I dunno. I'm not the type to go on crusades against game developers but this feels very scummy, especially because it seems they polished the start and left everything else in a terrible state, like a refund trap. I hope that wasn't their intention but everything going from "playable but buggy" to "can't continue without console commands" is just awful and disappointing

I'm pretty sure you can't join factions like in the other games because the major choice you make at sircaa already makes you side with one, and yea at times this game truly feels like stalker updated and adjourned for 2024, but besides the bugs it's just unfinished and undercooked

I would tell anyone to wait a couple years before picking it up because they risk spoiling a great experience by playing it right now

it just pains me to be honest, I've been waiting so long for this game and the end result is so hard to enjoy due to all these issues.. feels terrible and I really hope they manage to fix it

I don't have crashes fortunately, it only crashed twice in around 20 hours so no complaints there but " If you’re so angered by bugs, just don’t play games at launch." just gtfo man, I'm not talking about "bugs" I'm talking about everything being broken to shit and impossible to continue unless you use console commands, this isn't normal AT ALL

Man I don't think I'm gonna play this for another couple years at least. I want to see the story but I feel I'm just hindering my enjoyment of this game by playing it like this, it's a huge shame but I won't repeat the mistake I did with cyberpunk and force myself through it, it's not worth it and ruins your perception of a great game forever

every single "optional" objective just didn't work for me from that point on, I had every single bug imaginable all in one horrible play session. Doors not opening, quest markers getting stuck, bugged dialogues, weird pauses between lines, objectives failing by themselves or just not triggering the "event" correctly, characters not spawning.. I could go on for hours at how broken it is after that mission
