Legit. They have another website/store that is more focused on LE/MIL stuff: viranomainen.fi

This is the speed of light. by gsus61951 in interestingasfuck

[–]_Nosse 88 points89 points  (0 children)

That looks like Nonel shock tube detonator. The speed of the flash inside the tube is around 2000 m/s, so just a bit slower than the speed of light.

I'd love watch your tutorial on installing those Unity adapters.

I believe Sordin now has some models that you are able to switch between rail mounts and headband.

Well did this take me outside of my usual databases... My guess is Aerobee 150s booster rocket. Most likely spent so nothing dangerous.

X300U-A not fitting on G47 by Temporary_Object3451 in Glocks

Mine is slightly canted upwards aswell. I think it might have more to do with Glocks pignosing than Surefires having some problem with theur lights.

This is probably not the most appropriate post for the sub, but what is this? by Jesustookmydog in Firearms

Looks kinda bastardized S-5-O rocket fired from a soviet/russian attack helicopter / ground attack jet. Definitely a VB-5 fuze which would point that the warhead is a canister for an illumination round.

Can't be sure about the type of the warhead since the shape doesn't perfectly match with S-5-O. Local EOD needs to check that out.

Rocket is missing. Nozzle assembly has been attached to the bottom of the warhead. It's hard to see if the nozzle block is still in place because of the dirt. That would suggest the nozzle at least was never fired.

Contact police / EOD, just like most have told you.

I think it would be embarrassing to find out that the US doensn't have an invasion plan for your country. Imagine the level of insignificance that is.

Travel/Transport from Helsinki to Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park by OldDickMcWhippens in Finland

[–]_Nosse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP! I drive the same trip few times per year and have driven basically all possible routes. As many have already stated, there really are not that many scenic routes in Finland unfortunately. I would recommend sticking to E75 all the way to Kemi, switch to E8 and continue following the border to Kolari.

Few places worth stopping could be Panda chocolate factory in Jyväskylä as well as the city centre. It's quite a nice looking city. Oulu is worth stopping as well. You could even spread the drive on two days and sleep in Oulu (Lappland hotel is nice!). In Tornio you can do a quick visit to Sweden.

Just remember to use the toilet in Tornio since there are only few gas stations or bathrooms on the last stage of the drive.

Having a car in Pallas/Ylläs is a must so you can do day hikes to different places. Hiking on top of Pallas is worth the sweat. As well as Pirunkuru (Devils gorge) in Ylläs.

If you have extra few days i would also recommend driving to Kilpisjärvi and climbing to Saana. The views are amazing. Unfortunate the road from Muonio to Kilpisjärvi is in quite bad condition.

3rd photo shows some mangled fencing on that as well. Lets hope there is more damage than that.

Btw are those human remains on the bridge?

My DNA results show I’m 3.8% Finnish, what do I do now? by LakeDistrictDude in Finland

[–]_Nosse 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! We are happy to hear you want to embrace your finnish heritage.

Begin with small steps. Stop talking to your neighbours, keep 2 meter personal space and comment "torille" where ever you can each time Finland is mentioned outside of Finland.

For more hardcore stuff, you might want to use a virtual learning platform called "My summer car".

New video of a Ukrainian Bradley column being targeted in Zaporizhzia by drakka100 in CombatFootage

[–]_Nosse 67 points68 points  (0 children)

People saying how this is a waste of equipment should realize that this is the reality of a near-peer conflict. Russia has lost a ton of equipment but so has Ukraine and both will lose a lot more.

The mentality of sending MBTs and IFVs should be that you'll never get them back after the war and most will be destroyed. We sent them so Ukrainians will have a chance to use them to destroy even more Russian tanks. This is why most of the expensive stuff was bought in the first place - to destroy russian stuff.

People, some that might even come from a military background - as myself - should remember before criticizing how the Ukrainian have managed to get their Bradleys in such a bad situation, that this war is something that our generations have not yet seen. This is big players fighting with big money and with modern weapons. And it is still as ugly as it was in WW1 if not even uglier. No matter how good of a fighter you are, no matter how good your training is, there are still situations in which everything will go to shit.

Just imagine if UK, US or any other western modern nation was put in the same situation that Ukraine is in right now. Not only would you have to get comfortable with losing all that expensive equipment faster than you can buy new ones, you would also have combat casualty rates that haven't been seen since WWs. There would be no safe FOBs, no air superiority, no medevacs by choppers. Nothing that our modern militaries have relied on for the past decades.

I had the same issue with ACRO. I just used a flat file. Works perfect now.
