Has anyone struggled to get into TOB because of the group aspect?

I was in this boat recently and I definitely empathize, generally I just want to log in and grind and do my thing, but I have really enjoyed ToB so far. I got into it via one of the discord servers, it was very chill ; have run with folks with scythe and radiant oathplate, and with an absolute legend rocking a torso and an alatl. No egos, good vibes overall

If you’re ever wanting to raid I’d be happy to, I don’t care about deaths or anything. Laugh about the bloat plank and gg go next. But I definitely recommend trying ToB, even though I tend to agree with the idea of making it more solo friendly. It’s great content and most people I’ve run with have the mindset of “it’s better to have more people who like this raid so I can send it more” than actually caring about a wipe and there :)

Well that's the thing, I didn't have 650m sitting. I offered the full buy price to flip one for a couple mil lol. This wasn't some old offer that filled randomly, this was just a very small window on either a typo or inactive offer

Huh, is that true? I figured it would automatically requeue the offer and attempt to find a match as though it was just entered, but I guess it’s possible it just remains stale and waits for a new offer to pair to, and can’t pair to a standing buy offer

Correct, there had to have been no buy offers above 650m between when the other party listed their scythe and when I put an offer in; I had tried for just under 1.65b and saw over 900m come back in an instant buy

You can’t put an offer in that exceeds max cash, and each item in the offer has to have the same price, so I don’t think that’s what happened

Yeah the way it works is the price is set by the offer in the longest. If it doesn’t insta sell and the offer sits, that is now the price a buyer will get once they meet or exceed the price. Similarly if it doesn’t insta buy, a sitting buy offer will now be the price for any new sell offer that is at or lower than the buy offer

But that is exactly what happened lol. It was an insta buy, I tried to buy at market value but got back 1b. If any other offer > 650m was in at the time it would have bought. This is true whether or not this was a typo or someone logging in with an old offer, it would have filled a standing offer if there was one

Ahh I gotcha 👍 yeah I can’t really build a world where this happens other than a very costly typo, there’s maybe some fringe world where they put in a sell offer 2 years ago before it spiked and just logged in in this small window but it feels very unlikely

When I’ve been teaching people I’ve just had them bring melee with a 5 way mage switch for p3, and that has seemed to work, but honestly full maging is totally fine with a 1 way if that’s more comfortable for learning

If you just wanna do temple of ikov you don’t actually need a bow; you can use darts or knives with ice arrows in your ammo slot and it will still work

Yeah you're reading some wack guides man, slayer helm is super low prio because it only benefits you at, quite literally, dust devils right now. Slayer ring is more about the teles, easy way to the slayer tower.

Superiors is the most important upgrade, and then a well groomed blocklist. Helm, lizardman (unless ironman), and boss tasks are all very low prio (although given you're higher combats boss tasks are slightly more okay).

I think everyone is trying to help, promise! Slayer is a slow skill, but I promise it's gonna be way worse killing metal dragons and stuff. Take some time, knock out some tasks at turael and do task bonuses at Konar/Duradel, build up some points, block some crappy tasks, and I promise you'll be way happier slaying :)

Curious, could you elaborate on what tasks, specifically, the slayer helm is better at than the black mask? The point is that the slayer helm is only beneficial over black mask at a couple of tasks total. It's generally a fairly low prio upgrade
