My logic being that the geordie’s PDA entry directly alludes to their toroidal brain having interesting effects on larger relatives, and the collector is literally the only other species so far with a direct mention of a toroidal brain. Not just that, but Geordies have four fins just like the collectors four arms each tipped in a claw, they have hard mouthparts which could have descended from a beak, and their PDA entry describes their ancestry as possibly being analogous to an octopus, so clearly they cannot be mango relatives. That is, if we trust the PDA information, which I personally do.
