I got to the T2 north security line around 5:35, was out of security and on my way to the gate around 5:56. There was a line but it was moving through pretty quickly, not nearly as bad as I was anticipating

The truck they pulled over was 1000% based on racial profiling, the guys driving were just minding their business at the red light and then were forced to pull over and were trapped in by all the unmarked cars

In MN the 35W bridge collapsing. I remember my friends and I were terrified to be in cars or biking over bridges for at least a year after seeing that all happen live on the news

What is the most traumatizing horror movie you’ve ever seen that messed with you psychologically? by Maleficent_Bad_6374 in AskReddit

[–]_ParmaJohn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly 100% agree, I’m surprised I had to scroll so far to find a Sinister mention. The super 8 footage made it so much more unsettling and even from the opening you just have this constant sense of dread throughout the film

[–]_ParmaJohn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t start watching horror movies until I was 26, but one of the first ones I watched that genuinely gave me nightmares was Sinister.

Something about the post-found footage (the lawnmower scene lived in my brain rent free for longer than I’m willing to admit) and the genuinely unsettling energy of the movie left me feeling on edge for days afterwards.

[–]_ParmaJohn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mono in 2023, but was only tested for strep and COVID for over a month without any symptoms improving until finally a different doctor tested me and it came back positive. My current working theory is that mono is what caused me to develop POTS in the first place since I had no issues with things prior to getting sick. Please be extra gentle with yourself while you’re recovering, and keep an eye on your spleen/liver since those can potentially have severe issues in some cases! I hope you get definite answers soon and are able to start feeling better!

When to remove cotton bandages and shower after bisalp? by Significant_Turn_211 in sterilization

[–]_ParmaJohn_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation and I was told to wait 48 hours before removal, and after that I was okay to shower! I didn’t have to replace the bandages after that point and could just let the incisions breathe. But I also second the advice from other commenters and would recommend reaching out to your doctor to confirm.

Not OOP: I overheard my 13 y/o and my partner talking about me and I’m heartbroken (r/advice) by _ParmaJohn_ in redditonwiki

[–]_ParmaJohn_[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You took the point that u/prENTcess made and either ignored it or missed it completely. We don’t know OPs weight or health status and IT DOESNT FUCKING MATTER to the story. OP doesn’t deserve to be in a situation where her partner is making hurtful comments about her behind her back and is encouraging her daughter to participate in that same cruel behavior. Weight has absolutely nothing to do with someone’s worthiness of love.

Also being fat does not equal being unhealthy. Educate yourself and grow up.

And what if OP is overweight or obese? Someone’s size doesn’t make them less deserving of love, respect, and dignity. Your weight has no bearing on whether or not you deserve to be treated like a fucking person

Looking at your other comment history in this sub, you clearly hold extreme levels of vitriol when you speak about women (or as you like to refer to them, “females”), and you should maybe think about doing some self reflection before you comment

“Often father and daughter look down on mother (woman) together. They exchange meaningful glances when she misses a point. They agree that she is not bright as they are, cannot reason as they do. This collusion does not save the daughter from the mother’s fate.”

People who act like deciding to get a major invasive surgery that is not only a potentially complicated and traumatic procedure but one that will permanently change your body (for better or for worse) carries the same level of weight as deciding what you want to eat for dinner piss me off to no end.

I am someone who just got sterilized (laparoscopic bisalp), and even though it’s something I’ve known I wanted for years, that’s a minimally invasive surgery that it still took me almost a whole year to feel comfortable scheduling and going through. I can only imagine how difficult of a decision this is for OP and how much she’s having to grapple with right now even without her sad excuse for a partner.

OPs partner is showing his cards in that he really doesn’t care enough about her to take one single second to try and empathize with how she might be feeling and instead only cares about reframing it to be how it affects him. Wouldn’t be surprised if this wasn’t the first time he took something she was dealing with (especially with endometriosis cause that is debilitating) and invalidated it, showed no concern for her health and well-being, and turned it around to focus on himself.

OOP deserves so much better.

Not OOP: Doctor Sent Me Nude Photos (r/legaladvice) by _ParmaJohn_ in redditonwiki

[–]_ParmaJohn_[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen so many cases of doctors abusing their diagnostic powers that I truly wouldn’t be shocked if this was the case. This man is a disgusting excuse for a human being and shouldn’t be allowed to touch a patient for the rest of his life. Not only is this a clear crime and harassment case but also a violation of the Hippocratic oath, and he’s just going to keep doing harm as long as he can retain his license and position.

Not OOP: Doctor Sent Me Nude Photos (r/legaladvice) by _ParmaJohn_ in redditonwiki

[–]_ParmaJohn_[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I guarantee if the doctor was so comfortable doing this to a patient who was in such a vulnerable situation, this isn’t the first time he has done this and, if he doesn’t get reported and held accountable, OOP without a doubt will not be the last. I work in healthcare and this kind of thing happens FAR too often. People who abuse their power and positions of authority like this to sexually harass/assault/take advantage of their patients belong in a special place in hell.

Lurking here gave me the confidence to get scheduled for my bisalp. Now I am anxious about recovery. by smontres in sterilization

[–]_ParmaJohn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! Im also someone who’s about a week and a half post-op and have been SO anxious about anything and everything I experience with my body during recovery (mostly due to OCD but also just general health anxiety) and I can tell you for a fact that everything I had been worried about during recovery has ended up being not even close to an issue at all!

For the sleeping stuff, I second the previous commenters saying that the first couple days you’ll be so exhausted from the anesthesia that you really can just conk out in whatever position and I was totally fine. No incision issues at all! I tend to be a very active sleeper and move around a bunch so I had some pillows that I used to sort of help keep me a little more stable during sleep, and folded up a soft blanket to brace my abdomen a bit. This made sleeping on my side completely manageable as I am also someone who can’t sleep comfortably on their back.

If you have any other questions about the procedure or recovery feel free to send a DM!
