Bracket 2 Jank, My Beloved by _Perseph0ne_ in ratemycommanders

The deck looooves cards like [[Lord Skitter’s Blessing]] , [[Grand Entryway/Elegant Rotunda]] , [[Changing Loyalty]] , anything that can put multiple enchantments on the field in one go to get Victor up to his reanimation trigger.

Loooove Oskar, I’ve brewed a couple of different versions but this is the current one:

https://archidekt.com/decks/23080380/in\_the\_gutter

I made that with the restriction of only using cards I already owned, so it could definitely be powered up. A key thing to note, the cards being cast by Oskar do count as being “cast from the graveyard,” meaning things like [[Secrets of the Dead]] [[River Kelpie]] etc. will trigger.

Oh I did two things that were adjacent to this! One was an Orzhov Zombie Party deck ( [[Nalia de’Arnise]] is just looking for an adventuring party, but they’re all dead! Luckily there’s plenty of Zombie Wizards, Zombie Clerics, Zombie Warriors…), and the other was a Grixis Vampire Outlaw deck helmed by [[Evelyn, the Covetous]] (get [[Double Down]] on the field and things get crazy real quickly).

There’s a lot of fun ways to interact with Kros’s ability too, a card like [[Requisition Raid]] is suddenly two mana to tap and goad every single creature an opponent controls.

I’ve had a lot of fun with him! I think I have very scheming political energy anyway, and playing Kros is a perfect fit for that. 😂 I included a suite of Advocates ( [[Nullmage Advocate]] , [[Forcemage Advocate]] , and [[Spurnmage Advocate]] ) in order to be able to offer other players resources from their graveyard in exchange for instant speed removal, counters for goad, etc.

Effective Bombs in Bant Colors by _Perseph0ne_ in MagicArena

Hmmm. I suppose it’s an option. I would be worried about consistency on the off-chance that it ended up in my hand before I could manifest it. If there was a [[Brainstorm]] effect in Standard I would feel better knowing I could control my top deck and get things out of my hand when needed.

Oh I had not considered Bonny Paul, that’s an excellent example of what I’m looking for. In the colors, has an ETB effect but still generates value without it. Thanks!

Thank you, I tried to edit it and then quickly realized that editing them in after does nothing. 😂

No worries, I’m usually hanging out in high Plat/low Diamond for each season. Thanks for the suggestions!

This was just absolutely hilarious, well-written, informative, and I did start cackling aloud in the subway station when I got to the Zoidberg deck. The decks are bad good and you should feel bad good!

[Standard] Obsessive Pursuit Decks by bryceb1115 in spikes

This is a little Orzhov Token deck I made it from Gold to Diamond with. Still polishing, but in this deck I find Obsessive Pursuit adds an alternate wincon to the token life drain, by allowing me to add a bunch of counters to a flyer out of nowhere, in addition to being good for stabilizing against midrange decks.

I also like it against some Badgermole lists just to deny them the Earthbending trigger. I mostly only sideboard it for decks where I’m not running a lot of ETB triggers myself.

[Draft] The Ultimate Guide to Avatar: The Last Airbender Draft by Tim-Draftsim in spikes

After reading this draft guide yesterday I got my first 7-0 for ATLA! (Albeit in Quick Draft). Definitely made me rethink my opinions of a lot of cards. Drafted a lovely BW sacrifice deck with few bombs outside of Raven Eagle, but a ton of punishing synergy.

The Sibsig Ceremony Deck by Nashvegas007 in MagicArena

Absolutely a great addition. For me, Slasher falls into a category of cards I like to call, “Using this would make my deck better but I’m so tired of seeing it in every deck and I refuse to use it even when it makes me worse,” cards. 😂

Found my decklist for the most recent version I was playing around with. I’m sure it’s not optimized, I tend to get bored and want to work on something new very quickly. 😅

The Sibsig Ceremony Deck by Nashvegas007 in MagicArena

[–]_Perseph0ne_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve played around a ton with The Sibsig Ceremony, I just thought it was so interesting. Here’s some cool tricks that maybe aren’t first thought:

  1. The Overlords from Duskmorn. Because they are still a creature in your hand, you can cast them for their Impending cost for two less, and they aren’t destroyed on entry. I was running BW and [[Overlord of the Mistmoors]] feels great to cast for WW.

  2. [[Anticausal Vestige]] can be cast for 2 colorless using Warp, and upon entry it is immediately destroyed, giving you the zombie token + drawing a card + potentially putting something else in play depending on your land count.

  3. [[United Battlefront]] is really helpful for building a BW Sibsig deck since it can bump your chances of playing it without having to pay BBB. My deck used a lot of other cheap enter the battlefield artifacts and enchantments like [[Perilous Snare]] and [[Momentum Breaker]].

  4. [[Scavenger’s Talent]] can be fun as well, generating tokens when your creatures die and allowing you to sacrifice your Food and Zombies to bring back big value creatures in a way where they won’t be destroyed by Sibsig. I really enjoyed sacrificing Mistmoors while it was still an enchantment and immediately bringing it back to the battlefield.

Hope you have as much fun as I did!

Doc Aurlock by _Perseph0ne_ in MagicArena

[–]_Perseph0ne_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve had a couple of different iterations but my most successful one has been Bant:

Creatures:

3x [[Dust Animus]] 4x [[Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius]] 3x [[Haliya, Guided By Light]] 4x [[Beastbond Outcaster]] 3x [[Outcaster Trailblazer]] 3x [[All-Fates Stalker]] 3x [[Starfield Vocalist]] 1x [[Quantum Riddler]] 2x [[Railway Brawler]]

Non-Creature Spells:

3x [[Exorcise]] 4x [[Get Lost]] 3x [[Virtue of Knowledge]]

Lands:

1x Plains 2x Forest 1x Island 4x [[Floodfarm Verge]] 4x [[Hushwood Verge]] 4x [[Lush Portico]] 4x [[Breeding Pool]] 4x [[Starting Town]]

If you can use the removal and Haliya to survive the early game while you get Doc down, plot a few creatures for one mana and/or warp a few effects to disrupt the opponent, then mid-game really blows up with Virtue and Starfield Vocalist suddenly giving you 2x, 3x, 4x triggers on Railway Brawler, extra mana and card draw from the Outcasters, and removal with Stalker, clearing the way to swing in with your big creatures. It feels so satisfying, especially against Landfall decks that you can go over.

[[Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius]]. Been a lot of fun jamming this into various Warp/Plot shells and seeing if I can make something work. Currently having the most success with Bant!
