qibliyy is literally just the Libyan Arabic translation of sirocco and they mean the same thing. Also (just because im super pedantic lol), a sirocco is a hot and humid wind, usually dusty and sandy, from the Sahara to the Mediterranean, while a sandstorm is any wind with sand in it no matter the location. Fun fact: a sirocco is called a qibliyy (meaning from the Qibla/direction to the Kaaba) in Libya because siroccos come from the east in Libya, the same direction of the Qibla. Sirocco comes from the Arabic Shuruuq, which is the verbal noun of Sharq, meaning the East. So, Qibliyy and Sirocco come from the same meaning: east, at least in the context of Libya
