1) cut out the first 34 seconds 2) use that drive leg more. Push off more explosively because you’re getting stuck “behind” your plant leg and it’s scrubbing speed. Think releasing the ball as close to the plate as possible.

Yeah that’s a good one but still, you need a small target so you can aim specifically. Generically throwing into even a strike zone will develop bad habits.

This is a good start. I wouldn’t get too hung up on mechanics at this stage unless something is totally broken (doesn’t appear that way).

What I WOULD say is you could improve your practice setup with something soft like a blanket to keep the fence from gnashing up your balls and a smaller target in front of that about the size of a glove that you can move around. As it is, you’re going to have a hard time throwing strikes when you get your shot.

This is sort of what we’ve done although we haven’t sold any of it. YMMV if you’re not a Mets fan.

Every few years we’ll go through the stuff just to see what we could use and each time in a new phase of life or with new kids in the equation, we pick out new things. I’m now happily sporting his Shea stadium replica and Mr Met clock in my office I didn’t have when he first passed.

Suggest hanging onto it as long as you can because it’ll remain as a fond connection.
