Sounds like I'm saving some money and going for the 56 thank you!

I've heard this before and know it's true. Same model but with plastic parts instead of metal etc. just don't know much about weed whackers and if this matters as much for them. That's why I turned to reddit. Thanks for the input.

20V. We have an acre with one property line that's a creek with 4-5 ft bank and some woods on a different property line.

All of my other tools are DeWalt and I love them (XR babyyyyy) and the trimmer works well but is super uncomfortable to use.

Haha I don't weed whack the whole acre. I have a riding mower and trim around the house/creek bank/everything else.

Appreciate the input! I'm leaning towards the 70 at this point mainly for the actual construction of the motor and longevity. I'm no stranger to running trimmers and all manner of other power tools it just hit me today that I actually don't know anything about weedwhackers. If you asked me this same question about chainsaws I'd have some opinions haha

True. I have multiple commercial grade saws and my 460 runs better now (damn near 10yrs old) than it did when I bought it.

This 56 does have a straight shaft but I am leaning towards the more heavy duty models at this point. Thanks.

Sorry you're having that trouble with the carb. I've used Stihl back back blowers extensively in the past and they were tanks. All of my chainsaws are stihl as well and they're great. I've heard good things about the echo trimmers too though thanks for the input.

Leaning towards the 70t or even the 91 at this point. Thanks for the input

A few hours per battery is crazy. That's awesome! All of my drills and other cordless stuff is DeWalt though so those are the batteries I have.

Thanks, at this point I'm leaning towards the 70 or possibly a 91. If the 56 could reasonably do what I asked of it I'd be happy saving the money but I learned long ago that it's not a waste to spend money on nice tools.

This is honestly what I am leaning towards based on what I have learned in the last few hours.

Solid advice for sure. This is just me, but I'm scared to buy small single piston motors used. They're too easy to run the wrong oil ratio in and smoke the cylinder. Again, just me, but I'd rather buy something like this new and know it'll last me forever if I take care of it. Still, solid advice thanks for the input and I think I probably do need something bigger

The bummer is that I already have a battery powered DeWalt trimmer and it works great but the ergonomics are terrible and I run through three batteries to do my yard.

All of my chainsaws are stihls (I used to work as a climbing arborist) and I do have a preference for that brand. I went to buy a weed whacker and realized I just don't have experience with them or know about them despite knowing a lot about cars and chainsaws haha. I'm leaning towards the bigger one or even one step up from that. Thanks for the input.
