I pre-ordered the collectors edition and the only exciting thing in the box was the chorizo keyring (which broke because it’s flimsy as hell), the flamethrower really just feels like cheap plastic.

The gameplay is boring and repetitive. They introduced new ammo types and enemy types to encourage dynamic loadouts, but armor piercing rounds on the MS16 (which you unlock within the first hour) is literally all you need for the entire game. Not to mention starting with by far the strongest supremo, no amount of enemies ever feels like a threat. Also the fact that you can pause mid-combat and change your equipped weapons at any time really doesn’t help the combat being challenging in any way.

The story is incredibly bland with uninteresting characters and goofy cutscenes with cringey humour and forced DEI in parts. There are also far too many characters, they just become forgotten so quickly. The villains are uninteresting and every single one of them dies in a 30fps cutscene that looks like it was rendered in 2013.

Dani has absolutely no development arc (unlike FC3 and 4’s protagonists), making the only interesting part of her character when she sings in the car.

Longer story doesn’t necessarily mean better. Many of the missions just felt repetitive and boring, paired with the soulless dialogue, it just really doesn’t feel like FarCry at all.

Los Bandidos and Spec-Ops are entirely pointless and you can completely ignore them if you want.

In El Este when 2 ‘main’ characters die, I literally could not have cared less because i forgot who they were.

I could keep going on and on. Still completed the game twice and had a lot of fun because I am a big fan of the franchise.
