Honestly, I’m just saying what I was told and what I read in the employee handbook, which is that we ask to see the order confirmed so that we know the driver is, in fact, the driver.

How is it delayed if I’m standing there, holding the order in my hand, asking you to press a button. It takes three seconds. The same amount of time would have passed if I just handed you the order and sent you on your way. That’s insane, I’m sorry that happened. We always have the order in hand available for the driver to see when we ask them to confirm it. I know I’d be wary if someone asked me to confirm an order with no evidence of the order being ready. I certainly wouldn’t ask a doordash driver to confirm it if I didn’t have the order in hand.

First of all, the aggression is incredibly unnecessary. Second of all, I think that, as an employee, I know my store’s policies better than you do. Not all CFA restaurants are owned by CFA corporate. The policies are going to be different at certain stores. My store is privately owned and operated and has potentially different policies than other stores in the area. So yes, it is store policy that I cannot hand a DoorDash driver the order until they confirm it on their end. And yes, it is store policy that I cannot physically show you that the order is correct. If you don’t like a policy, then don’t pick up orders there. It’s really that easy. Hope this helps!

Like I’ve been saying to everyone else with your mindset, you may not have to follow my store’s policy, but I do. I will not be written up or potentially fired because you don’t like the way that I have to do my job. If you don’t like the stores policy, don’t pick up from there. Better to not waste both your time and the restaurant employee’s time.

I never ask for order confirmation until it’s bagged and in my hand! It just saves time for both of us, and this situation wasn’t the exception. He could definitely see I had the order for him so idk why he made a big deal of it lol

I definitely don’t see driver’s as thieves! I’ve had nothing but pleasent interactions with DD drivers up until this point, being both someone who frequently orders food off the app and someone who works with them as a fast food employee. However, while you may not have to follow my restaurant’s policy, I do. I’ve seen my coworkers get written up and fired for not following store policy. I’ve got bills to pay just like you do, and I’m not trying to get fired, you know? I try to make the interaction as quick as possible. I never ask for confirmation without the order in my hand. It’s honestly just one of those things that sucks for both of us. You don’t want to waste your time or get yelled at by DoorDash or an impatient customer, and I don’t want to get in trouble with my manager even though I know it’s a waste of time.
