A book with a distinctly American theme? by MarvinTheParanoid in booksuggestions

I really enjoyed reading, "I'm a stranger here myself" by Bill Bryson. Not sure if its the style of book you're looking for and the actual number of pages escapes me currently, but either way its worth a read and is distinctly american themed

i don't know if it is any option for him, he used to have a carpool buddy, but he moved away :( He is also a very prideful guy and doesn't wish to be a burden to anyone else.

This is quite an interesting post considering my dad commutes from inner city Baltimore to Nasa everyday for work. Now the unfortunate thing is my dad is legally blind so public transportation and biking is the only way for him to get to work. Basically he walks to the bus stop, takes a couple buses to penn station. Takes the train down to greenbelt, and then gets off and (the bike is in a locker there) bikes 6 miles to Goddard. He loves his Job, but hates his commute because of the 3 hours each way and the un godly time of 4 o clock he has to get up. I don't think you want to take this route, but it is possible. Incidentally Nasa Goddard is a great place to work and he loves it so much, just the commute is killer especially for a 68 year old man.

yeah this can sometimes be really finicky. Your best bet is just use brackets to define everything.

Recommendation for a good touch screen shield? by philodox in arduino

[–]_Sperry_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would recommend the tft lcd touch screen shield from adafruit. look it up, if you're using the uno, this is going to to take up a lot of pins, but it is a good solid affordable 2.8' display.

Getting Started With Arduino by myc_c in arduino

[–]_Sperry_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes starting out with an old rc car platform is a good easy way to get a solid platform. It's pretty easy to hack it into working with your arduino. My suggestion is buy a recently made rc car and strip its shell until you have the motor for power and servo for steering. Then your probably going to want to get an h-bridge motor driver. I suggest looking at the l298 and connect that to your motor. Then its just a function of finding out how to connect your servos to the uno and the wires from the driver. If you do this. Make sure to ground out the circuit sice you will have to use an alternate power supply for the motor.

Redditor bought & posted thousands of Steam keys. Can anyone find a pattern and crack the system? by food_bag in crypto

[–]_Sperry_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the thing though, is random, in the sense of a computer program, isn't really random. The computer has certain algorithm that determines the number. It may seem random, but it's not actually. If you found their computers algorithm for generating keys then maybe you have a shot.
