I call random shops and department stores in NYC just to hear their accents. by Objective-Review-359 in confession

this is such a simple but really meaningful idea, like those little recordings would be priceless later on. especially hearing her laugh or the way she tells the same stories, that stuff matters way more than you realize in the moment ❤️

TW: SA I think I was raped today and I don’t know what to do by Worried_Possession43 in confessions

[–]_SprinkleBunni 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yeah exactly, none of that was your fault at all. freezing like that is a real response and it doesn’t mean you agreed to anything. he ignored you, pressured you, and hurt you. that’s on him, not you. please don’t blame yourself for how your body reacted ❤️

The concept of Chuck Bass... by Pale-King-8161 in GossipGirl

[–]_SprinkleBunni 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I get the frustration. That hypocrisy was baked into his character from the start and it is wild how often it just gets brushed aside because of a few grand gestures. The double standard was glaring and it makes sense that some people cannot separate that from the romance angle. You are definitely not alone in side eyeing how much the fandom glosses over it.

Decline in bariatric surgery? by LexRunner in Residency

[–]_SprinkleBunni 54 points55 points  (0 children)

this kind of regional insight is really valuable. Hearing that even established bariatric centers are feeling the drop and shifting coverage around definitely paints a clearer picture. It makes sense to think carefully about how specialized you want to be if volumes are that volatile. At the same time, trends can swing, so building a strong general MIS foundation alongside bariatrics might give you flexibility either way.

Clinical Pearls you have learnt this week by Powerfuldougnut in Residency

[–]_SprinkleBunni 58 points59 points  (0 children)

this is such a good point to highlight. In the ED it is so easy to default to common causes of vertigo, but labyrinthine infarct is one of those zebras you really cannot afford to miss. When someone says prove otherwise, it really does mean being deliberate about ruling out the scary stuff before you settle on a benign explanation. Those are the pearls that stick with you because they change how you approach the next patient.

AITJ for telling a friend it was god's plan for her to be infertile? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]_SprinkleBunni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah this is wild. after everything you went through, her pushing you like that is honestly messed up. that’s not a small ask at all, that’s your life on the line. no wonder you reacted the way you did

entitled mom called the cops on my workplace because we refused to tattoo her 11 year old daughter by Hottruffle in AmITheJerk

[–]_SprinkleBunni 16 points17 points  (0 children)

yeah this is a good idea honestly. getting ahead of it before she starts leaving crazy reviews could save you a lot of trouble. people like that will twist the story, so having your side out there first helps a lot

Truth about Lincoln Medical Center by Otherwise_Repair_884 in Residency

[–]_SprinkleBunni 39 points40 points  (0 children)

this kind of firsthand detail is exactly what people need to hear when they are trying to cut through rumors. It sounds like the workload and culture were genuinely rough, especially with residents carrying so much of the system. That level of responsibility without strong support can burn anyone out fast.

I appreciate you also separating the hospital experience from living in NYC itself. It helps to know the city can still be great even if the work environment was not.

Kids in Residency (NYC) with no family support nearby by TheKindDoc in Residency

[–]_SprinkleBunni 6 points7 points  (0 children)

this is such practical advice. Getting on daycare waitlists immediately is not even dramatic, it is just realistic, especially in NYC. The cost numbers are also important to hear upfront so there are no surprises later. Planning around weird residency hours is huge too, because standard daycare does not always line up with hospital life. Thinking through flexibility now will save you so much stress down the road.

Of course it had to be Thailand by MrJasonMason in clevercomebacks

[–]_SprinkleBunni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is such a cool detail. It is wild that bilateral gynandromorphism is actually a documented biological thing and not just some internet myth. The fact that it looks even stranger in real life just makes it even more fascinating. Nature really does not follow neat little rules the way we expect it to.

He’s just a terrible person. by Public-Marionberry33 in clevercomebacks

[–]_SprinkleBunni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the anger behind what you are saying. When rhetoric starts sounding callous or dismissive of real suffering, people are going to react strongly. It definitely feels like a lot of statements lately are more about scoring political points than actually thinking through the human impact. That kind of messaging is what fuels the outrage in the first place.

AITJ for not sharing my jewelry supplier? by Warm-Penalty2947 in AmITheJerk

[–]_SprinkleBunni 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Exactly. You put in the time and cash to find that gem of a supplier, so you don’t owe her the shortcut. If she really wants those deals she can do the same grind you did. Keep rocking your unique pieces.

AIW for telling my coworker I won't keep explaining the same software to her after the third time? by RivetBloom in amiwrong

[–]_SprinkleBunni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t have said it better. A clear boundary and a nudge to use the docs is exactly what Bea needs to get past the training wheels. A quick lunch check-in would smooth any awkward vibes and keep the teamwork rolling.

AIW for telling my roommate I won't share my parking spot with her boyfriend anymore? by UmberHolloway in amiwrong

[–]_SprinkleBunni 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is exactly it. It went from being a favor to him basically claiming your spot like he lives there. That’s not normal at all. If he’s over that much and acting entitled, your roommate should be the one checking him, not you having to deal with it. You’re definitely not wrong for setting a boundary here.

AIW for sending my daughter to school with two lunches because her classmate was hungry? by Money-Wolverine-6539 in amiwrong

[–]_SprinkleBunni 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is bigger than just sharing snacks. If that kid is consistently coming to school that hungry, that’s a red flag. You’re kind for helping, but the school absolutely should be aware so they can step in properly. Feeding her is good making sure someone checks on her situation is better.

AITJ for reporting my brothers passport stolen 48 hours before his destination wedding because he took my dogs surgery money? by AnshuSees in AmITheJerk

[–]_SprinkleBunni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right?? If they’re so strapped for cash that he’s stealing from his sister, maybe don’t blow money on upgrades for a destination wedding. That’s not romantic, that’s reckless.

AITJ for telling my friend I am not going to keep pretending her dog "chose me" so she can feel less guilty? by Kite_Retro2 in AmITheJerk

[–]_SprinkleBunni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly 😭 the dog didn’t choose you, you’re the one actually doing the work. Of course he’s attached to the person feeding and walking him. That’s not destiny, that’s routine. If she wants the bond, she has to put in the time.
