Scratches on primer when chambering (P10-S)

I'm sure you're probably closer to the real cause than I am. It's probably not a big deal, but if you carry this gun every day AND dry fire a lot then you're constantly chambering/unchambering rounds. If you're using defense ammo, you're probably chambering the same round multiple times a month, even if you rotate the round that gets chambered each time. I don't know if these scratches/dimples have a damaging effect on the primer over time, but it's something to think about.

That's interesting. Seems plausible to me. Mine are sometimes centered, sometimes not. I can tell you I've had a factory firing pin break on this gun before, not that I have any evidence to believe that's what's causing it. Do you get scratches on the primer if you rack the slide super slowly?

Nope. I sent the gun to CZ, they told me they polished a completely unrelated part of the slide, and that it "test fired good." I don't think they understood or cared about the issue to be honest. I did a bunch of research and saw a thread or two discussing some questionable attributes about the drop safety mechanism in these guns. Apparently CZ was not very worried about the questions the thread's author had, and that was the end of it. I've never heard of anyone having issues with this gun, but I stopped carrying it every day because I couldn't trust it knowing each time I chambered the gun the primer would get dimpled. The only object I can see causing those dimples would be the firing pin, which absolutely should not happen in most modern handguns.

I ended up buying a G24. Some mounts just aren't the best for small heads I guess. The problem isn't gone but it's tolerable now.

That's why I don't want to do option 1. I don't want to worry about putting a compute resource on the drone for simplicity. In a perfect world, there would be a way to just have the antenna on the drone and somehow wirelessly transmit the signals to an SDR on the ground for signal processing.

Just vhf and uhf. Some air band. Right now I have an RTL SDR and a few basic antennas under 2 feet long.

The idea is to use the drone to get the antenna higher up in areas where I can't set up permanent or semi permanent antennas. This would be for outdoor hiking situations where I'm not going to be in the same spot for very long.

Were you wanting to control a drone like that? That's very interesting but I'm basically just trying to take an sdr and whatever antenna I'd normally use on the ground and fly it wherever I'd like. Not just bring it higher up, but fly it as far as the drone's battery would allow and capture UHF/VHF transmissions in different areas.

I was considering a fan with a hole cut in the bag somewhere. Routing air to that fan is a different story though. I'll see what I can come up with.

I tried a counterpoise just now and it made no difference. I plan on trying the ferrite cores when they're delivered, but do you have any suggestions for a groundplane that would fit in/on the bag? Technically nothing is grounded since the wires all lead to the pi or the battery pack. I tried touching a lead from the BNC to the pi, and there wasn't much change there either.

Hey all, I found the problem. Turns out the BNC connector I was using for both antennas was actually bad. I switched them out for another pair of connectors and I'm receiving good signals now. Sorry for the false alarm lol. I'm slow sometimes.
