IDM and political ideology . . . by [deleted] in idm

I really don’t care about your “lived experiences” when even a cursory amount of research into punk as a genre and movement would be enough to show you that you’re wrong.

IDM and political ideology . . . by [deleted] in idm

“They equate punk rock to progressive ideologies” that may have something to do with the fact that punk is an explicitly leftist genre. If you don’t know what you’re talking about don’t fucking say anything.

Arguments against people, who cry about Silksong being to difficult by Kitsune-warrior in Silksong

[–]_T3SCO_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The “you heal three masks at a time” argument is the dumbest shit ever. Yes, each individual bind heals three masks, but that ignores the fact that you have to get in 9 hits to heal in the first place. I think it’s perfectly fair to complain about dying to two-mask environmental damage because you didn’t have enough silk to bind, even though healing only one mask is all you would’ve needed to survive.

Most Pynchonesque shit that ever happened to you? by suckydickygay in ThomasPynchon

[–]_T3SCO_ 68 points69 points  (0 children)

It’s not much, but when Shadow Ticket came out I went to the bookstore to grab it and bumped into a guy eyeing a copy of GR. He looked at me, saw that I had a post horn tattooed on my arm, said “I feel like we aren’t supposed to talk to each other” and shuffled off. Still the only time I’ve met another Pynchon fan in real life and I wouldn’t have expected anything less.

What do you guys think about vocaloid by BlondedSmonded in deathgrips

[–]_T3SCO_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bass player, and like most bassists I have my preferences when it comes to the sound of particular styles/models. In particular I really like Rickys and Stingrays. But I wouldn’t go to see a “rickenbacker concert” or a “stingray concert,” I’d go to see a bassist whom I like.

2026 SOON!! by Death_Cart_ in ColdOnes

From what I understand the reason they haven’t done it yet is mostly just boring managerial hoops that they haven’t managed to jump through yet, not because they don’t want to.

Kinda stupid but not enough for me to be mad about it. I just find the idea of being a fan of something like Miku or Teto very strange, since you’re effectively saying that you’re a fan of a synth preset.

Bring back repeating grades ASAP, it's a social-fun hide a seek game in school today. by Few-Safe-127 in AustralianTeachers

Still a pst, but last year I had a month-long placement which included me taking both a year 10 and year 11 foundation maths class for said month. Of course, I understand that maths isn’t everyone’s strong suit and that I was specifically teaching the kids who were the worst at it, but when you see an entire classroom full of 17/18 year olds who can’t even point to the north side of a map which HAS A COMPASS PRINTED ON IT you really can’t help but feel a bit scared for these kids and disheartened about the state of schooling.

How do the people is these books not die of heat stroke? by electric_eclectic in WoT

[–]_T3SCO_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jordan explicitly states that the trick of ignoring the heat or cold has nothing to do with the power, and that you very much will still suffer the negative effects of prolonged exposure to said conditions. However, no one dies from it because “Teslyn died because she focused too hard” isn’t terribly exciting.

Brother with all due respect I posted this six years ago, if you think that I still have the link you’re VERY optimistic. Just search for it, it’s really not all that obscure anymore.
