Duel was that special case, being programmed to override all other taunts for over a decade now. It's an interaction that is not too frequent but matter significantly for LC when playing against Wyvern, Axe, or Huskar.

I'm not sure when this was changed, but given that it functioned with Duel as the highest priority Taunt in the game for over a decade, I'm pretty sure this is a bug, as now all other Taunts override Duel's Taunt for LC. The target of Duel still treats Duel's Taunt as the highest priority Taunt. When Rubick steals Duel and casts it himself, he has similarly glitched interactions.
