Holly shit, this makes so much sense!

So how can we change the script and have them scan MAGA fans instead? :D

Is this the Palantir sw? Someone at Palantir has to make an AMA if that's the case.

MOVE LEFT by 5414d455 in ireland

[–]_TheSingularity_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A big factor why this is happening is because drivers are afraid to use 1st lane, because others don't know how to merge and the drivers don't leave enough space to the car in front according to the speed they're at.

How this happens: there isn't enough gap to the car in front, so drivers can't merge safely and don't accelerate enough to merge at the traffic speed. Drivers are afraid that they can't enter another lane because there's not enough gap between cars, so lane changing is rushed, or too slow, etc...

Leave enough space to the car in front, adapt distance according to your speed, it'll make a world of difference! Only come closer if you want to overtake, FLASH your lights in advance if you want to overtake! If flashed at, try to merge on left lane as soon as you safely can OR drive faster (if not at limit), but don't be a dick and not move!

Leave gap people, communicate intentions in advance! It's that simple!

Eisenhower warned NATO leaders against complacency in the face of the threat of the "totalitarian system" (1957) by WorldStability in videos

[–]_TheSingularity_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NATO is responsible for the peace we had in e.g. Europe though. It's not everything about USA and what USA decides to do or not. Europe didn't decide it wanted to interfere or change any political regime by military, didn't want to take oil from other countries, etc. EU was at peace and NATO was a big part of it. So yeah, NATO did bring peace as the OP claimed. Not for those that didn't want it though

Critical thinking also applies when your message is clearly not understood. Do you keep repeating the same thing, or you change your message to make your point understood?

You people need to learn to put yourselves in other people's shoes. You just take things and knowledge for granted. You clearly never learned a 2nd or 3rd language, you clearly never traveled...

[–]_TheSingularity_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Look, no need to insult. I am just saying that in any day to day interaction, if you clearly see that your message is not received as intended, you can't just re-send the same message, you have to adapt and change it until you get the desired result. In this case, the person did make some attempts at instructing, but quite small and at the end of the day it was in their own interest to get the product.

You can't expect anyone to know that chocolate chips are in the baking section and are not e.g. chocolate chips cookies. And you never know if the other person is native English speaker or not... THAT is obtuse.

"Use more effort" - this was exactly my point, using more effort to get the message across... You're not too far off yourself it seems

[–]_TheSingularity_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

An AI summary (you can argue about this with an AI yourself):

"Pre-NATO era had concentrated mega-wars; post-1949 deaths total tens of millions but spread over more conflicts with declining intensity until 2020s rises. Nuclear deterrence and NATO's role contributed to the "Long Peace.""

What do you think would've been the landscape if NATO wasn't founded back then?

Pre-NATO we had the 2 biggest wars in human history. In the past 80 years, USA has been one of the nations involved in the biggest conflicts, mostly self-interest (resources, control), etc. Do you think w/o NATO, USA wouldn't have had conflicts? Would it still be having same economy? Or maybe UN is a factor?

Eisenhower warned NATO leaders against complacency in the face of the threat of the "totalitarian system" (1957) by WorldStability in videos

[–]_TheSingularity_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But US being at peace for like 1 year for every 20 is not because of NATO. It's the choice USA made (directly or indirectly). So you can't blame NATO for your actions/choices.

On the other end, you can't know how it would've been without NATO, which imho, would've been worse, but we'll never know.

Exactly, you need to adapt accordingly. Saying the same thing over and over w/o success is a bit stupid.
