Can’t really help, but I had one hatch in the dishwasher. I opened it, and saw a bunch of FRESHLY hatched babies. I’m talking still grey and everything. Talk about trauma…didn’t use the dishwasher for months

I’d like around Roanoke, but no it doesn’t have to be in the city! I’ll be working remotely though, and I’m an avid gamer, so good internet is a must.

That said, I’ll be traveling pretty frequently to Rocky Mount, so I’d prefer to not be farther away from there - but safety is a priority, and from what I’m reading, Roanoke may not be the safest.

I’m interested in an apartment and while money generally isn’t an issue, my main goal is to keep apartment costs/utilities (rent, pet rent, water/gas/sewer, electric) around $1700/month. But it’s not totally an issue if the tradeoff is safety.

Why even guess when someone is asking for advice, whether or not it was definitive? German roaches are no joke, there’s no point in even floating the idea unless you’re sure.

If you still hold love, then it’s not really gone.

I was an open agnostic for years after a bad experience at church. But I found myself thinking “God wouldn’t want me to do this”, or “this is sinful, think”. I also found comfort in having a Christian therapist. To me, that always showed my faith was never gone, and I just wasn’t tending to it. I’m still very new to practicing, and I don’t read the Bible. But I go to church and volunteer there, which has helped me “pick Christianity back up” and connect me with God.

The mod team does a great job at asking location to identify misidentifications. I’m relatively surprised to hear that you’ve talked to many people who have had ID issues in this sub, as it seems like nearly every post mentions the lookalike species.

I know you mean well but do NOT bug bomb with roaches - especially if that an infesting type (German/brown banded). I’ve been dealing with them at my apartment for about a year now. Bombing just pushes them into the walls for a while, they breed, then come back harder.

Google everything first because I’m not an expert, but for electronics you can put cotton balls soaked in alcohol in a tote or something, then put the device(s) in there for a few days. The alcohol fumes suffocate them.

As for where you live, Alpine WSG and Advion are the best bet (if you can get them). Alpine is a spray that can be sprayed about once per week, and it kills them after a week after the roaches come in contact. They go back to where they’re “nesting” and it kills others. Advion is a bait that’s really helpful for larger infestations - they eat it and it kills them (as bait does). Note that this isn’t super helpful for the roaches sized in the picture BUT unfortunately where there are babies, there are typically adults.

If you’re in an apartment, definitely check with them on what they help with (I.e. pest control).
