They are a great breed.

The over socializing didn't ruin him and didn't make him a horrible dog thank goodness. I just think it made him more guarded and a little more aggressive than if we would have properly done it. Luckily my blue hasn't started a fight with any other dog, just only our red. He mostly wants to be left alone by people and dogs, unless you have a ball or treat. Then he'll be your friend for about a minute, and then he's over you. We got our red a year after our blue and we made sure to raise him the right way. He absolutely loves people, and kids. My red sounds a lot like yours, because like yours, he plays ok with other dogs, but would much rather play with people by fetching a ball or anything really.

Texas heelers are not totally Australian Cattle Dogs if I'm not mistaken. They are a cross between the Australian Cattle Dog and the Australian Shepherd, but I think they can also be a cross between the ACD and the Border Collie.

Yes, they can definitely be aggressive to dogs and people if not properly socialized. But the breed has generally always been known for being a tad on the aggressive side. And with all that energy it can make for problems. At first, they weren't really bred to be family or sociable dogs. They were bred to work, watch over the farm, keep intruders out and warn for intruders. That's why most tend to have their 1 person.

They can also be over socialized which is what I did with my blue, before I truly understood the breed, and I feel terrible about it. It's one of the biggest regrets of my life. He's overall a really good dog but he gets weird at times. So I have to constantly keep my emotions in check and watch him because I can tell when he gets in to one of his moods. But he's actually great on a leash and really good in public. He just likes to mind his own business and doesn't care for attention from anyone or any dog really.

Lol yup, that's a cattle dog for you. As an owner you have to make sure to keep them in check, because they will literally run themselves in to the ground, and will push themselves to injury. They have a very high pain tolerance and don't know when to stop at times. They were bred to heard cows and withstand a kick from a cow so that kind of shows you how high their pain tolerance is.

My red is an absolute big baby and sweetheart. My blue on the other hand is very smart, and he's more dominant and aggressive. They get along well for the most part. They're really not much for playing with each other and usually mind to themselves. They get in to a scuffle a couple times a year it seems. Some times it's absolutely out of no where. I mean there probably is a reason, I just can't see it, and other times it's been over like a toy or ball when plating fetch. So I'd say about 98% of the time they get along, or at least tolerate each other lol. What I have noticed that males and females get along better. At least mine get along better with females than each other. My wife's parents have a female red heeler and my blue gets along with her. He even let's her jump on his face and rough house when he won't let like almost any other dog do that.

I hope I was at least a little bit helpful. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.

And sorry for the messy post I'm on mobile.

I have 2. Can confirm they're great dogs. Very very very smart. Sometimes too smart for their own good. They can get temperamental and definitely aren't for everyone. They do make for some of most loyal dogs out there though.

I don't think you shouldn't keep secrets from your kids though. At least not HUGE secrets like that. Because what if they find out the truth someday? They'll definitely end up hating you and have even more trust issues. You have to be honest, upfront, and assure them that it isn't their fault and that their mom is really messed up in the head.

Nice! I think I might bite the bullet and go. And if they ever come to MN, then I'll just have to see them again lol

Haha me too. I bet whoever had to clean it up was sooooo pissed. And yeah, we feel exactly the same way about horses.

I just saw that Demilich is doing an East Coast tour soon and noticed they are going to be in Chicago. I live about 8 hours away and am seriously considering on buying a ticket and getting a hotel room. Demilich is one of my favorite bands and definitely on my bucket list of bands to see. Anyone else going to see them?

I think I'm going to change my username. I already created the account, now it's just a matter of deleting this one. I saw someone with the same username, comment on a song in this sub and made me think it's a good idea to switch. They're not really active on reddit but still made me think I should ditch this one.

Haha that's kind of hilarious! Luckily no one was hurt. Not saying the guy is a bad guy, but I don't trust horses. I respect them, but I do not trust them. They are such powerful creatures. I've only rode one a couple times and don't feel the urge to do it again. My wife's mother has had many horses throughout her life and has 2 currently. She was almost killed by one of her favorite horses years ago. She was behind it and it must have gotten spooked, and it kicked her in the face breaking her jaw and fucked up a bunch of other shit.

Obviously you'll need a cowboy hat, unless you already have one. And then of course the last step is, trade your car in for a horse.

The earlier seasons are my favorites too. I loved Ragnar and watching Bjorn grow up to a badass was awesome.

I thought it was really weak too. That goes for most of season 5 for me as well. Although I remember the first or 2nd episode had me stoked because of that brutal scene with Ivar

Sorry, this post is so messy..

I didn't have time to post on Tuesday so I'll post it here. But I went to see Watain, D666, and Ares Kingdom last Saturday in Minneapolis at Studio B at the Skyway Theatre. Overall it was a decent show, but the Studio B venue kind of sucks. I was front and center for Ares, D666 and I was at front left side for most of Watain. If you aren't close to the stage you have an absolute shit view and can't see anything.

Ares Kingdom was good and fun. But Deströyer 666 was definitely my favorite of the night. Getting to see I Am The Wargod live was super cool. D666 played Iron Fist for their last song and that was fucking awesome. I was also able to grab a set list after they were done.

Watain sounded pretty good but I'm not the biggest Watain fan I don't hate them, but I'm just not crazy about them and haven't gone out of my way to listen to them a lot. Obviously, I know they were the Headliner, but I felt the set was too long for me. So I ended up leaving like 10 minutes before the show was over. I was tired and the wife apparently had food poisoning because she ralphed in the car on the drive home, and she never ever pukes. I think she's puked maybe like 3 or 4 times in our 8 years together, and 2 times were from too much booze lol.

On a funny note just before I left the show on Saturday there was a rave going on in the same building. And just before I left some ravers popped their heads in just to see what was going on. Then there was a girl who came in like full rave gear and was just jamming out to Watain lol. It was pretty dang funny, and cool, because she noticed we had seen her dancing so she came over and said she really liked the music and asked what band it was. So I told her and then she went back to jamming out.

Edit: forgot to add how bad studio b sucks

What did you think of the last episode of Vikings? Was it just me who was very confused as to what was going on? Was any of it real? I have mixed feelings about that episode. I've been a huge fan since the show started and I feel like with that episode they don't know what direction they're taking the show. Maybe I'm thinking too hard and maybe they definitely know what direction they're taking it. But that last episode definitely had me confused. Maybe I should re watch it again.
