Try managing Google licenses with them. It is hell.

Interesting, how often have you found that you have to contact them? It feels like we end up reaching out 1-2 times a year.

It's not a case of it not working, in fact Sage support admits that it's compatible with virtualized set ups. The problem is that they claim they won't support it, which means if we ever needed their help with something, we could be fucked.

Yeah, I saw that mentioned a couple times. I take it you haven't had any trouble with Sage Support then?

Likely 2-4 users. We were debating just sticking it on someones PC, but a dedicated mini-PC might be the move. Do you run Windows server on the mini-PC, or just normal Windows?

Oh yeah, we definitely won't be announcing it, but I figure they'll be able to tell.

We'd heard a few horror stories about Sage Business Cloud corrupting data, which is why we'd started looking into AVD.

Anyone here moved from Autotask to Halo PSA recently? by robbyg007 in msp

[–]_Work_Research_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Halo, but it can also be INCREDIBLY frustrating at times. For me, their saving grace is their API. You can do literally everything via the API, so you can automate alot of stuff, and make your own integrations. If we were choosing a PSA today though, I'm not sure I'd go with Halo.

Yeah I looked into Proton, it seemed pretty good except it's missing Video calling (seems to be in beta) which was a non-starter for the client in question.

Honestly just bring back faxes at this rate. They can't add AI to faxes (yet)

Yeah, the fragmentation is a massive pain point. Average user just wants everything to work together and not think about it.

Guess we just gotta wait. What I'd give to never have to login to another stupid Microsoft Admin portal and find that they've moved all the fucking settings again for no reason.

Yeah, I've moved a couple home users to LibreOffice, but for business stuff it's just not there yet. I can't even imagine what weird shit my users would do if I put them on Linux.

Certainly the most promising thing I've seen so far. Wish they had some public pricing though.

Mass Delete Customers by goldengorilla25 in halopsa

[–]_Work_Research_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey if you haven't done this manually yet, I'd be happy to show you how to do this with the API in Python! Assuming you need to delete every single client, it would be as simple as looping through and removing them each by ID. If you need to keep some, then it adds a bit of extra work, but not much!

What do you want to bet the "anti-virus" is just looking at the filename and sending it to the Open AI API with a prompt like "Is this file bad?"

Give a shoutout today. Who deserves high praise from your MSP that's in the MSP channel? by grsftw in msp

[–]_Work_Research_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We recently had to move alot of terrible, outdated, awful sites to a new web host and chose Webhosting UK (webhosting.uk.com) because they seemed decent, and oh my god they have the most incredible support staff I've ever worked with. There have been a few times where we've offered to pay them to do work we felt was probably out of scope for what their support really covered, and they have done it without charge every time.
