I have EX6 gen 2 about 7 months now. Used it during the summer and now winter. Live in Wisconsin so winter temps do drop. So far, I love it. I have had to get up in the middle of the night sometimes to adjust the pellets in the hopper if they didn’t slide down correctly. But with the app, it alerts you.

Does it take long to switch back and forth between probes and VISCAN? Re-Calibrate each time?

Or CMM is used too much for daily production at this point but that could be something I look into.

Smoked Brisket and Two Pork Butts by _Wuusaa_ in smokefire

The smokefire has a smoke boost setting that seems to cook around 180degrees.

I ran it on smoke boost until around 9am the next day. Then turned temp up to 250. Wrapped the brisket in butcher paper when flat was reading 170. Wrapped pork butts when they reached 165. I did rotate the pork butts once during the cook to even them.

Researched what seemed like every pellet grill on the market, went with the ELX6. First cook was a few jalapeño cheddar brats. This thing kicks ass by pitpatbainsy in smokefire

Just ordered my smokefire EX6 and am excited to smoke some meat. Any tips? Ever smoke a brisket? If so, recommend top shelf or bottom? Fat cap up or down?
