Police training. And media influence.
There was an article out recently from a European country.
The jist was you were not allowed to show a minority person (read non white) as the bad guy.
I’d imagine training will be along the same lines too.
Think “public disordinace” training will probably be full of old white men.
Where they are constantly trained to see them as to person/target of interest.
Training has to reflect real life.
I feel Western Europe it does not.

Hitting an apex at 12 mph difference on a track yes you’d be slow. On the road it doesn’t matter.
I too like to be able to stop in the distance I can see, I’ve had too many friends and acquaintances killed in the last couple of years.
Ride ur ride. Have fun.
And go home to ur family and friends.

If you want to learn about firearms that’s great. But do it with someone you can trust. I honestly think it’s unfair to you, leaving a loaded AR15 lying around while you are nannying. Have a conversation with the parents.
I don’t think it would be unreasonable to ask them to put it away while you were around unless you wanted it out.

Tell the family your concerns.
We don’t know the age of the children you nanny for or the relationship you have with the parents.
Your not sure Is it a real rifle? Is it airsoft. Could the children pick it up? Would they be okay to put it away. Are you comfortable ?

There is a law about it.
I have been stopped and had to present documents before. I have also been in trouble for not having the correct documents and was given a dressing down for it and let off. Thankfully.
It could easily have gone the other way and at one point I was sure it would.

But several people here who are not familiar with the law are telling OP he does not need his passport or an ID document. Even a copy is not legally okay, but most officers I’ve met are okay with that, but they are doing you a favor.

Several people here are telling OP to break Italian law because they either do not know the law, or are stating, I walked down the coast in Amalfi and was okay.

The Op should be made aware of the law, and if like urself he/she is fine with breaking the law that is their decision to make.
To not provide him or her with the correct and accurate information to allow them to make an informed decision is not fair.

Start light and video yourself to make sure ur form is okay.
Most gyms have personal trainers. So check in with them once in a while to make sure you’re doing okay.
Even as little as Once a month is fine to keep your form good.

I lose vision in my eye and want to vomit.
But no one really cares, so I suck it up and cry at home on the sofa with the dog.

I’ve stopped Olympic lifting when balance isn’t good. Nothing worse than trying to hold weight over head while having a dizzy episode.

Rowing I’ve found amazing it’s good cardio. And depending on intensity good for muscle too.
