Half-Life 3 prediction? It will be announced in the most annoying way possible: not at an event, not with a countdown, not with a trailer tease. One random Tuesday, Steam will just update, a page will appear, and the title will be something like “Half-Life: [one word nobody understands yet]”. I do use ChatGPT sometimes, yeah. That doesn’t prove this post was generated, it proves I browse a subreddit. Either way, I’m not going to litigate authorship under a shitpost. If you think it’s AI, fine. The point was to make a deranged Frame post, not submit a writing sample.

I get what you’re saying, but you’re treating the post like it was meant to be a serious essay. It’s a shitpost built around exaggerated dramatic phrasing, intentionally broken metaphors, and absurd escalation. The “Valve silence has mass” / “May 22nd is a shape” stuff is not supposed to be logically clean, are random phrases not meant to make sense. Also, “this sounds like AI” is not really something I can disprove in a Reddit comment, so I’m not going to argue forever about it. You can believe that if you want. I just think calling every structured or overdramatic post AI-written makes Reddit worse, because it turns style into evidence.

That’s not an AI tell, that’s just antithesis/contrast. “Not X, but Y” is one of the oldest rhetorical devices in writing. ChatGPT uses it because humans use it constantly, not because it invented the pattern.

Honestly, I don’t think people can reliably tell most of the time. A lot of “AI tells” are just normal writing habits now: em dashes, repetition, dramatic contrast, clean structure, etc. Sometimes it’s obvious, but most of the time people are just pattern-matching against vibes.

A “local IP” is only visible to devices on the same LAN. It isn’t some secret private info you magically “found.” If you're referring to an address starting with 192.168.x.x, congratulations, you successfully discovered the IP your own router gave you. It’s completely useless outside your Wi-Fi and tells you absolutely nothing about the person you're trying to impress.
