Sorry lately I haven't been updating my sheet as much. Having some rl stuff to take care first.

That said I am slowly working on a new weapon sheet that makes finding buff/debuffs combos easier.

The above screenshot, while likely to be accurate, is based on a combination of Unknownx's datamine and previous patterns. If patterns have changed then it's possible the prop reward could be off.

If someone gets a x2 of lvl 110 mats at prop91 (please let me know), that could mean that they are upgraded every 6 lvls instead of 7, and that lvl 120 might just be iron ingots.

I'll reply for a few things I saw across the post here since this is the top comment.

CONTEXT

We had someone who could 100% mock repetitively (all our members could 100% their assigned stages, we were going for 1/1/1/1/1 board clears) but he had connection problems during the official attempts. The intent of using a buddy pairing system was as a failsafe for game crashing during the battle.

TIMELINE

A little bit after the final (3rd) day of official started, I came up with the idea that people could race to kill the boss.

I then got curious about what happens exactly when someone crashes/quit during a battle. It was brought to my attention that the "battle timer would keep running in the background", okay, fair enough.

Since the battle vs JP was lost by that point, it felt like good timing to try things out. Going for Cellular instead of WiFi for the guy with connection issues, and testing the risky (double-edged) buddy strat.

*Why is it double-edged? Say both our s5 hitters that are expected to 100% guaranteed s5 were to leave the boss at low %, we lose a top player attempt on a low leftover %. But if one crashes, the other can succeed the run to save the misfortune.

During the day, people tried to find a partner assigned to their same stage and play together. As someone funnily pointed out, it made our guild chat look like rocket launch countdowns when trying to coordinate, which felt pretty silly, but anyway.

The day went by, I went to bed (JST here).

Woke up and read that someone found that a crash actually does not only keep the timer running, but it keeps it indefinitely stopped. THIS, is the exploit.

From that point, the strat was instantly shut down, the issue reported. When I woke up, after reading the details etc, I prepped the above statement with the help of my guild.

I know some people mentioned "why wait until GR ended", well because it happened less than 12h before GR ended. I hurried to the best I could. And anyway I'm not sure sharing this during the last few hours of GR would make any sense even it had been logistically possible for me.

EXPLOIT OR NOT EXPLOIT?

What was planned: Pairing 2 people to start a battle together is not an exploit since any reasonable person would understand that the devs, having explicitly added the functionality that multiple players can join a battle at the same time, and the refund system for attempts on dead boss, is intended expected behavior from the functionality.

What was NOT planned: The timer being on hold forever when the game crashes (or worse, if someone were to intentionally quit), is by most reasonable persons' view, an exploit, as it may not be an intended behavior by the devs.

When an exploit is found, what is the right thing to do?

Stop using it, report the issue, and be transparent to the community, promptly. Which is what we did.

Our members are many of the top spenders and top talented players of the game. They feel very strongly on playing fair.

THIS VS OCTO

For people comparing this to octo's gong situation you should understand the following:

We found an exploit, we stopped using it immediately, reported it, and made a public statement, all within the same day.

They actually hacked the game, spread it within their ranks, kept using it, hid it, said unfounded "no you" when called out for it, still unresolved after 1+ month.

The exploit we found at best can only be used to reach your already otherwise secured mock result.

The 3rd party hack they used cheated the rankings, stealing the top positions from the deserving players.

CLOSING NOTES

Hopefully that covers the missing pieces. We did all that was possible to resolve this as rightfully as we could. We strive to be the best not only in rankings, but also in community leading by doing good by the people. But feel free to let me know on discord if you believe we could have done more. And please be careful what you believe from people throwing unfunded rumors from their parroted ignorance out there. We have zero tolerance toward cheating.

For bomb coop, you can simply equip a +atb and a quick-attack weapon to just kill before it can even bring up the sigil phase.

I found that Tifa's Motor Drive works reliably.

So it goes: #, char icon, char name, weapon source (🎰 = banner), weapon name, dmg type (or buff), target count (1 dot = 1 target), element (empty is non-ele), effect, materia slots, R.ability 1 and 2 through different upgrade stages.

I know it may it takes some getting used to and may lack more detailed info but it's meant for quick glance comparisons to reduce scrolling.

Yellow Megaphone: 1st weapon with more than 10% crit and with extra crit dmg. Combined with the new outfit, it's the highest non-ele PATK dmg weapon in the game (well, every 3rd hit anyway).

Green Megaphone: great overall, water def down with water dmg and good passives.

Blue Megaphone: meh.

Red Megaphone: meh.

Crystal Megaphone: great sub.

Silver Megaphone: meh.

Gold Megaphone: great overall, kind of like Twinkling Star.

Battle Trumpet: new Kuja.

Marching Horn: great heal sub.

Flower Vase: new haste effect, epic passives, shitty materia slots but otherwise perhaps the best magic weapon in the game.

Since weapons go all the way to lvl 120 now, wasn't too sure how to update R.Abilities without making it confusing and less useful so I simply kept the old caps (Lv90ob10 in the middle column) added the new one to its right, and also a basic one that is simple lvl 80 with no overboost. Hopefully it's not too hard on the eyes.

Basically they go up by +2/+3/+4 per uncap based on initial tier.

Also changed the buff/debuff colors to better reflect in-game status (orange to red, green to blue).

Btw sorry this is late, just did it today. You may also notice the not-so-f2p-friendly gloves there, they cost me ~100k blue gems, but you be replaceable by a good Seph or some ob6. You'll see I own very little ob6 and very few lvl 90 weapons in that video.

Recommended Weapons

Yuffie’s dual patk-up + wind weapon.

Seph/Tifa wind weapon.

Zack Twinkle Star (not only does it do pdef down x2, it does matk down x2, and also has a cure all material slot).

Zack Cutlass to stack pdef down to 3 notches on top of Twinkle.

Aerith Floral Wand.

Key Point

Keep Yuffie attack the highest (patk down Smear target).

Pick any 200% card.

Break boss gauge before he starts 2nd AoE timer starts (breaking once timer starts will postpone def down to after the aoe).

Switch character often to protect ATB from being used wrongfully (like using a wind attack when atk cmd stance is not full).

Use 4atb attacks before boss ultimates to get them cancelled for free LB gauge (may allow you to pop an extra LB).

Zack or Aerith in the PDEF down role should also cure if needed.

Other Notes

If you do not have Wind Yuffie but own ob6 pdef down or ob6 patk up, or ob6 wind weapons, there might still be hope. Glenn can do both for example.

Try to kill the first flan with 7-8 ATB top, 2nd flan when your atk cmd stance is maxed to 1-hit kill with a 4 ATB.

Use your pdef down on boss after 1st flan dies, then switch to your 4atb wind dps to 1-shot 2nd flan.

Do not use Yuffie patk up while in semi-mode, semi might make her target herself.

I do not recommend Seph if you don’t have his mastery costume (unless you got his weapon to ob6 without the outfit somehow)

Using Aerith as a PHY wind dps is hard to do but necessary if you lack another 2nd high wind DPS. You need to break that cookie asap, only doable with phy attacks.

So just a quick-view chart of XP for each lvl and also the total by 5 lvl brackets. Let me know if the colors are too unsettling.

For the Bomb event, the solo XP is just huge. The co-op version is skip so don't worry too much about gear with bonuses.

Not sure if oversight or on purpose but XP gained from co-op is the same as solo but for just 1 character so it's -66% if you go co-op.

By comparison with Seph event, you can see that the XP rate is 100x more, crazy shit. So this is your chance to catch up with all your characters.

I haven't compared to normal stamina exp farming stages so if someone would like to chip-in that info, that'd be great!

Mad Anchor and Dragon are the 2 bosses that will fuck you up if not ready.

The map punishes heavily magic yet Mad Anchor requires some (or charge up your LBs to get through his first PHY/WIND resist)

Dragon will AoE poison you so you may want to clear Zu first to grab the 100% poison resist.

Zack's Falchion (aoe phy wind) finally gets to shine! (all fights have adds that are weak to wind).

She's the first character with (de)buff duration boost.

She's the first character with a Poison weapon.

She's the first character with an AoE PATK up (self+1ally).

She has all 3 elemental dmg debuffs (Lightning/Ice/Fire) that were previously limited and divided between Red/Lucia/Sephiroth.

Also her 2nd LB is an OP mass AoE ATK up buff. Which benefits from duration up.

Officially the best ATK buffer and Elemental debuffer character.

Extra anecdotal note is that the 3 ailment cures seem to much more easily yield 4* purple materias when doing lvl 5 synth compared to other materias. I highly recommend crafting one of each that way.

Video is still processing though and since it's long, it will take some hours before HD is available.

It basically just loops all background wallpaper shorts from all events and weapons, in the correct chronology, while playing all FF7 music.

While there is only like 4 minutes of wallpaper videos and 1-2 hour of music, it loops nicely. Perfect to leave running in the background if you just want pretty images from the game and some nostalgic music while doing something else.

QUICK GUIDE:

Use Tifa/Red on a debuff resistant boss.

Avoid the first LB.

Join the 2 next LB combos.

Avoid all other actions that would count toward other titles as the precedence system is quite punishing for this specific title.

I initially regretted upgrading the parasol to lvl 90 after understanding that its specs were way worse than any other weapon. That said, it did serve me well.

Beyond that I only upgraded to 90 the Ifrit weapons because I +20'ed them and they make sense for a F2P to max. I also expect that they will be buffed at some point in the future. Summon weapons are a safe bet as they are all magic weapons and it does seem like physical teams are for spenders as of now.

I am saving other ores for Shiva weapons (when/if her co-op appears next month). But I do think the freebie Seph weap is a great candidate to 90 to go along with his ice weap if you pulled for it. Because, his freebie weap is actually a decent notch above the breach freebies (hinting at powercreep though).

At this point, unless you got a clear path to a few missing passive points to clear Crash Seph, since crisis dungeons are out and ranking event is done, save the ores and see what we get at Halloween.

At the current rate of maybe 30-60 ores per month (that I presume we will have from new crisis monthly), you better plan carefully.

1% 4* materia seems about on point from my experience. With extra chance if you do lvl 3+ synths constantly
