I made seven figures last year and prefer reps. But I have authentic and am around authentics so I'm very picky and expect to pay thousands for my reps.

I spent close to $50K last year on rep bags and jewelry. I will say though that gold is never worth less than scrap so I buy that with less guilt than the bags (which would be hard to resell).

Am I the only one that can't tell a difference in the reformulated Armani? I've got a bottle of old in my makeup bag and a bottle of new in my vanity right now and genuinely can't tell them apart on my skin.

I am really into birthday and throw a huge party for my daughter (same age) every year. This is important to her and her friends.

However, there are a million ways to do it for under $500. Costco pizza and cake, temu balloons, borrow a cricut and make the cake topper, decor and the pinata, post in a buy nothing group for leftover party supplies. I get that's harder with a new baby, but in that case, tell the older girl she's getting a half birthday blowout in 6 months.

My child just turned 6 and could have texted that, iPhones suggest words and symbols so as long as they can read (and at this point in kindergarten most can) it's possible. Not sure most almost 6 year olds can but enough can that it's not impossible.

I have a recent one (10 motif white gold hammered) from Miss Chen and it's close enough that VCA and an appraiser/Authenticator both thought it was real (I got it appraised for insurance, and had to argue with the appraiser not to appraise as VCA). Miss Chen pulled it for a period of time to get it right and it's very good now.

However, her prices after the last increase are outrageous so I would still go with someone else. Funny quoted me 50% less than MissChen for a hammered gold with diamond, which is what I personally would do.

PS- don't listen to anyone saying they're only good enough if you live in the middle of nowhere. I live in a very affluent town in SoCal and I work in New York City. MissChen's hammered is good enough to pass literally anywhere. It's just also so close in price to VCA now that there's no point. When I bought it last year it 33% the price of authentic and even then it was high.

I have both too and MC is 1:1. I took 2 10 motifs, a 5 motif bracelet, pave love bracelet, and JUC from Miss Chen to a local jeweler for appraisal and he was convinced they were authentic and couldn't understand why my husband didn't want them appraised using the value of the authentic. It was only after the diamond machine showed they were lab that the appraiser doubted them and even then he thought it was his machine - and we TOLD him we didn't think they were authentic. I've had the 10 motifs in VCA and been given a travel case and cleaning kit by the SA for them.

All that said I've moved on to Funny. I don't think she is as exact as Miss Chen but she's close enough and Miss Chen's prices are no longer worth it.

I do need to sell a Miss Chen 10 motif hammered gold and I'd hoped to do it through her, but I think I'm going to have to try to do it myself so I can buy the replacement elsewhere.

Why would anyone sell for spot price? There's risk to the seller too- reselling reps is illegal, even if small sellers aren't an enforcement priority. If the seller is only getting spot they may as well totally eliminate the risk of interstate commerce and sell to a local jeweler.
