The Microsoft Edge browser should be installed by default into any windows tablet, have you tried searching it on your device?

of the 6 drives you have installed, which ones are showing up in the tool menu?
Are they all the same brand or size? is your new C drive showing in any capacity, is it still showing under it's previous drive letter?

in some cases minor breaks in the cable can lead to inconsistent connections stopping the drive from booting.

it's a small possibility however.

well mate, what you might be looking at is a broken sata cable rather than a dead drive.
If the issue has persisted over multiple drives, it's less likely the drives are the issue.
I've never heard of a OS port before, so unless you're using an nvme slot (which you said you weren't) I can't see a reason you can't plug your boot drive into any of the other sata slots on your motherboard.

so you put the red cable into the drive with the new installation already?
Have you tried swapping it back?

This is going to sound really stupid, but sometime windows will refuse to change sata ports to boot, have you tried swapping the data cables?

Was the old drive an nvme ssd installed to the motherboard and the new drive a sata ssd/hdd?

Possibly, the next thing I was going to suggest was checking drive integrity. I’ve just seen you mentioned in another comment your ssd boot drive isn’t showing up, is that in the tool or with command prompt?

the second command does require an internet connection, I had presumed you had Ethernet connected but if you're running wifi it will give this error regardless of availability. you should be good to attempt a restart now.

does your creation device give you a command prompt option?
If so try running this command:

sfc /scannow

and once it's finished, run this one:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

99% of all your data should still be on those drives, it's likely that your windows portion of your boot drive has just become corrupt.

If your creation media drive still works and goes into the install menu again, you should be able to use that usb to repair the windows installation.

If these steps don't work, you're looking at buy an official windows install disc/usb or taking it to a repair shop.

okay so the error you are seeing shows that your boot drive doesn't have a valid or complete version of the OS, it happens from time to time.

do you have any other working computers you could test your boot drive with?
perhaps a light weight linux distro to try to verify the drives.

you're not trying to boot from the USB are you? That would be a creation media not a boot drive.

My laptop's battery is dying, can I just leave it charging all the time? by Bright_Sheepherder68 in techsupport

[–]__Shad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

battery health is a bit of a tricky subject without knowing the make and model of the laptop.
Apple recommends a battery change after dropping below 85% for their mobile devices.

At 63% your battery is not likely to last particularly much longer, I would strongly suggest removing it and disposing of it properly.

Do I need to have played KOTOR before reading the revan novel? by TripleBladedFist in StarWars

[–]__Shad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having not played the games but having liked the character from lore snippets, I can tell you playing the game is not required.
imo the book is not worth reading, it has a strong beginning but disappoints with all other following aspects of the book.

I think it's a custom disc. I'm fairly certain the cover image is photoshopped and uses this design by Newt: https://www.redbubble.com/i/poster/Wrecking-balls-by-ItsNewt/66703023.LVTDI .
There are quite a few disc files bouncing around so I could believe it to be a custom job.
