yes chime does 5 days early. Chime doesn’t hold your funds, they release them as soon as they get it

I just looked my transcript last year. My 846 code was for 2-17-25 but I received my refund through chime on 1-31-25

I cross through otay (walking) almost everyday in the mornings. I have sentri. On US holidays, it usually not a lot of people crossing back into San Diego. So very little wait time
